She nodded slowly. “I really want Mommy to have two boys but I’m going to love my baby siblings even if they are girls or a boy and a girl.”
“Good.” Oscar leaned closer to his daughter and kissed her forehead.
“Let’s get you to bed baby.” He mumbled, reaching for her bedtime story to read to her.
“Christ, Vicky, Something this insane happened and I am the last person to know about it?”
“I was so worried when you didn’t show up for dinner. I didn’t want to but I had to reach out to Bessie since she is the only one I knew that could have Oscar’s number.”
“I received a text from Oscar later that day but he didn’t mention anything about any accident. I thought you both had gone for some honeymoon or so. I feel deeply hurt,”
“I apologize for not letting you know. It has been a roller coaster for myself and my family. But I’m home now and getting better.”
“You need not feel guilty about it. There was no way you would have known.”
“And don’t think you are the last person to know about it because we told no one.”
“It was a matter of safety and we wouldn’t want to put any of our loved ones in danger.”
“I’m so sorry you weren’t informed before now.”
Kathie sighed from the other end. “I’m glad you and the baby are safe and home. It’s just so hard to believe that something like this was happening to you and I was someone else enjoying some romance and shit.”
Vee smiled. “No doubt you’ve been a good friend and there is no need to feel guilty about anything because you have every right to live your life too and enjoy every romance with your man.”
“That’s not the point. I love being there for you because I know you would do the same for me. Please don’t ever keep something this serious away from me.”
“I won’t. And to make it up to you, I think I have a surprise for you.’
“If it’s chocolates, then I’m not going to accept it. You are not going to bribe me off easily.”
Victoria chuckled, “It’s not chocolates. But I know you are going to love it.” “You’re making me excited. Can’t you tell me over the phone?” “No, you will like it more when you see it physically,”
“If you insist!”
“Yes, I do.”.
“See you tomorrow, then. My regards to Sophie.”
“Yes, Babe. Goodnight!”
Vicky was about to scroll through her phone when the door to her bedroom opened and Oscar walked in.
She smiled at him as he made his way towards her.
Oscar kissed her forehead, before sitting on the bed beside her.
“Hope she didn’t give you a hard time? I was about to come to check on you both.”
“No, we were lost in our conversation.”
“She seems to get more of your attention lately than I do.”
“Are you being jealous?”
Victoria shrugged, smiling a little”Should I be?”
“You don’t have to. We were just bonding.”
“She has you wrapped around her little fingers.”
Oscar smiled, “That, I cannot deny.”
“How are you feeling now?” He brought his hand to her face and caressed her check. The little bruises on her body, especially the ones on her face were slowly starting to fade
“Better.” She smiled.
“I’m glad to hear that. I want to kidnap you so bad.”
Victoria smiled even more, loving the sound of it. “Really?”
away.
Oscar nodded. “I want to be alone with you, somewhere private and very serene.”
“All plans have been made already.”
“Then what’s delaying you?”
“I’m obeying the Doctor’s orders. I want you to be stronger before we embark on the trip. It’s going to be beautiful and mind-blowing. I promise you.”
“You are making me excited. We can ditch the Doctor’s orders if you want.” “I’m tired of this environment too. Please kidnap me.”
Oscar chuckled
She nudged him. “Don’t make fun of me.”
“I’m not. I’m just trying to figure out who is cuter. You or Sophie?” “It’s definitely me.”
“I love to see you happy and free.”
“I have you by my side, so I have no reason to be sad. I can’t wait for the threats to be over, so I can have my happily ever after with you.”
“Hey,” Oscar ran a finger over her lips. “There are no threats anymore. And no one is going to ever come in our way. It’s true we have enemies but I promise you that they will be out of our lives for good very soon. You have nothing to be afraid of.”
“I trust you, but I don’t trust them.”
“I refused to say anything in detail to you because I don’t want you to worry. But be rest assured that Gabriel and I are taking care of everything.”
“It must be so exhausting for you,” she whispered, staring deep into his eyes. “Protecting you and my kids? No.”
“I mean the betrayal from almost everyone in your family and yet you are being strong for us.”
“I’ve honestly moved on from that. I just want to focus on what makes me happy and that’s you, Sophie, and my little boys.”
“Between you and Sophie, I don’t know who is more annoying.”
“You need to quit pretending as though you don’t wish to have two little Oscars.”
“Oh, you mean the award?” She grinned.
Oscar chuckled, leaning closer to her belly. “Even though Mama doesn’t agree with me, I’m going to love you both regardless.” He placed two kisses on her belly through her nightdress.
Six days Later.
Mykonos, Greece.
Victoria slept all through the journey to Greece. It was her first time flying on a private jet and she enjoyed every bit of it. The same for Sophie as well.
After what felt like forever, they got to Mykonos at exactly 8:18 p.m.
Sophie was still fast asleep so her Dad carried her as they descended the plane for the car waiting to take them to the Villa.
Oscar sat in front with the driver, then Vicky, Sophie, and Gracie occupied the back seat. They had brought her along so she would take care of Sophie especially when they would need some privacy. It was Gracie’s first time in Greece too.
In about twenty minutes, they got to the villa.
The driver got down immediately and started bringing out the luggage from the trunk of the car. There were not many bags because Oscar insisted that he would take them shopping.
Gracie helped herself down with sleeping Sophie in her arms. She had smiles all over her face, loving the environment already.
Victoria froze where she stood.
Oscar snuck his arm around her waist. “You like what you see?”
“This is so beautiful, honey.” She whispered, not tearing her eyes away from the Villa before her.
Yeah, it was dark, but the beauty of the environment and the house itself couldn’t go unnoticed. It was one of those gorgeous villas that one would see in magazines and on TV.
“My family deserves the best so here we are!”
“Let’s go in.” With his hand on the small of her back, Oscar ushered Vee to the entrance. They were almost there when a woman in a dark blue uniform who seemed to be in her early forties came out and approached them.
“Good evening. And you must be Mr. Wayde.” She directed at Oscar, her thick greek accent not going unnoticed.
“I’m Anna. Welcome to Greece and I have no doubt you are going to enjoy your stay here.”
Oscar smiled at her, “Thank you. This is my Love, Victoria, my daughter Sophie, and her nanny, Gracie.”
“Please can you show them their suite and also help with the bags?”
