As soon as they left, Lena and Shawn hugged each other with Lia in between them. “I am so sorry…” he said to Lena. “I don’t know why she chose to show now. This was so unexpected.”
“It’s fine…” she replied. But she knew that this was far from over. They were supposed to leave a day after and Lena hoped that nothing happened at that time. However, things never go the way you plan them. Next day-
“I love you,” Shawn breathed as he rested his forehead over hers.
After coming from the party and, after sending all his relatives with gifts, he came back to the cottage with Lena. Maria took Fiona, Jack, River, Hunter, Lia and Jane to her cottage which was not even a kilometer away. “The couple needs some time alone!” she giggled as she ushered them in her van. “I love you too,” Lena replied. She curled her l*egs around him. Her nails dug in his flesh as he pounded her. All at once, he rolled with her and made her s*traddle him. Inclining his n*eck, he said, “I want you to mark me.” Panic rose in her c*hest. “I can’t,” she said, pursing her l*ips to stop her fangs from slipping through her gums. “This is going to be bad.”
He cupped her b*reasts and f*licked her n*ipples. “Lena, you believe in mates?” She nodded. “Do you believe in the Moon Goddess?” She nodded again. “Then you should believe in what she has given you. I am sure that I can take your bite. When I go back to your world, I want to carry your mark on me proudly.”
“Shawn…” Doubt stained her voice. “I am scared.”
He rotated his h*ips and t*hrust his e*rection i*nside her. “Don’t be scared. Do you know how crazy I am feeling right now? It’s like if you won’t mark me, I am going to be so antsy. Now why would I feel like that? We humans don’t feel that kind of an emotion at all. This is not natural for humans, but I know from the c*ore of my heart that I am ready for it.” His f*ingers trailed from her b*reast to the middle of her c*hest, her clavicle, her nape and finally to her fangs.
“Gods, you are so lovely with those fangs.” He t*ouched the tip of her sharp fang and it was so sharp that a drop of blood spilled from his f*inger. He pushed that f*inger in her m*outh and she s*ucked it, m*oaning in p*leasure.
“Mark me, my beautiful wolf. Please!” His e*rection swelled i*nside her. “You have to take that leap of faith “ Lena whimpered when she released his f*inger. Her fangs were fully out and gleaming in the darkness. She looked at him as she slowly rode him. The heat in her belly was coiling, coiling, coiling. It had become so t*ight that she wanted to chase it to unwind it. Shawn had inclined his n*eck again and her wolf was goading her to mark her mate. She debated with her wolf to not mark him because she wasn’t sure that her venom would affect him or not.
Shawn’s n*eck was corded with tension and glistening with sweat. He was looking enticing like sin. She increased her pace and his breath became ragged. He clenched his jaws as if straining himself. She realized that he was stopping himself for her. That was her cue. “Brace yourself,” she rasped. Her eyes turned amber.
He closed his eyes and the next moment her fangs sank in his flesh. The moment they sank in his flesh, he shot his release, cupping her head from behind, taking all that she could give him, feeling her p*ussy fluttering around his c*ock as she came with a snarl. And he felt like this was the most natural thing that happened to him. She snarled against his skin. “Mine. Mine. Mine.” She had shot her venom in his blood.
When Lena removed her fangs from his flesh, she saw two round wounds with blood flowing from them. Panicky, she l*icked it off from there. “My saliva should heal this soon,” she said and lifted herself up, only to find his eyes half-mast. “Shawn?” she shrieked.
He smiled. “I am there…” he said and then he drifted off to deep sleep.
“Shawn!” Lena slid to his side. She slapped his face. “Shawn!”
He chuckled. “I am right here, Lena. I am just feeling sleepy.” He turned lazily towards her, gathered her in his arms and went off to sleep.
Tense, she placed her ear next to his heartbeat and stayed there for a long time, afraid of untoward. She prayed to the Moon Goddess all night that he remained fine. His heartbeat was like a lull to her. Perhaps it was her venom that was making him sleep. However, his heartbeat was steady. She clung to him for the whole night, periodically checking his breath and heartbeat. She couldn’t sleep and was only able to wink an eye when it was almost 4AM. When she woke up, it was 7AM and Shawn was still in deep sleep. She shook him a little, but he didn’t wake up. Dread bubbled in her c*hest. She got up, tied her hair in a bun and shook him again. “Shawn!” His eyes remained close. “F*uck!” She was now in full-blown panic mode.
Quickly, she slipped in a pair of jeans and a white shirt, she called Fiona. Before others came, she had made him wear a boxer and covered him with blankets. She saw that his marks were in the process of healing. “Mother!” She rushed to Fiona with tears in her eyes. “He insisted that I mark him!”
Fiona’s eyes became wide as she stared at Shawn with a terrified expression. Jack and Hunter went next to him to check on his breathing and heartbeat.
“His vitals are normal!” Hunter remarked.
Maria had come into the room along with coffee and cookies. Hunter gestured to River to take her out of the room because no one could reveal his marks.
“Maria, could you take me to your backyard? I saw a flower yesterday that was intriguing!” River suggested to her. Maria placed the tray on the long table in the corner of the room. “Sure!” She grinned. “That is called Morning Glory. I got that from the local market and trust me it is very expensive! It’s a tropical flower.” Her eyes went to Shawn. “Why isn’t he awake?”
River gave her a nervous smile. “Maybe out of exhaustion?”
Maria chuckled and winked. “I am sure.”
As soon as the two left the room, Jack gave coffee to all. “Do we take him to the doctor?”
“And say what?” Hunter said. “His b*ody has Lena’s venom right now. The doctor will take a blood sample and wouldn’t even know what poison has affected him. Besides, what explanation are you going to give for those two marks?”
Lena started crying. “I shouldn’t have marked him! He just kept insisting and I-” She let out a sob. Fiona stroked her back. “It’s fine…”
“It’s not fine!” Jack snapped. “You shouldn’t have marked him. This is the reason why humans and werewolves can’t mate.” Gripping his cup t*ightly, he walked to the window, anger simmering inside him. Why did he allow his daughter to marry a human? He should have asked her to reject him.
Lena couldn’t say anything because she was feeling too miserable. Fiona urged her to have her coffee and cookie. “Have it. You will need it.” But Lena was extremely nervous. She didn’t eat the cookie.
“Let’s wait for some time,” Hunter recommended. “His breath and heartbeat are normal. So at least that is not to worry about.” Saying that, he went out with his coffee to be with River.
“Go and freshen up, Lena,” Fiona said. “We are here.”
“No,” she shook her head. She went to sit at the edge of the bed and lifted his h*and. “Stay…” she murmured through her tears.
It was 10AM but Shawn hadn’t woken up. River and Hunter took Maria back to her cottage and returned. On Fiona’s insistence, Lena went to take a bath, but she returned to sit by him. They all had a quiet breakfast.
It was 12PM when there was a heavy knock on the front door. Hunter growled before opening the door. “This is Natalie again with her boyfriend!”
“What the hell is she here for?” Jack growled.
“Open it,” Fiona said, not wanting trouble at this moment.
When Hunter opened it, Natalie shook some papers dramatically in front of his eyes. “Where is Lena? Where is Shawn?”
Hunter narrowed his eyes on her. Behind her was her boyfriend, Garry, in his police uniform. The car they had come in was flashing red and blue. Hunter clenched his jaws. “She is sleeping,” he replied with lethal calm.
“I want to see her now!” Natalie demanded. “These are court papers!”
Aghast, Lena came to the door to face Natalie. This was the last thing she wanted at this time.
