Hi, Liam timidly whispers, and Jace quickly scoops him up from my arms. Liam looks wary at first but calms down afterward.
This is why I didn’t want him with Leo. It’s confusing to him and it makes things hard for my mate. But I am confident he will come around.
The bond will make it happen, like Noah and I.
“Do you hear that?” I whisper, nervously staring around us.
“Yes, take the baby and go inside.” Jace quickly answers but I shake my head. I am not going anywhere without him.
Ana, they are close. I can’t let anything happen to any of you. Have your dad send backup” The stench smell of wolfsbane and rogues surrounds the building and I wonder where the dam n guards are.
I look at Liam who is innocently staring at his father and quickly take him. We can’t let him get hurt.
Leornado came prepared. Maybe he is not stupi d after all.
Ana run” Jace shouts and just then, wolves surround us from all directions before I can make it to the door.
I hold my son tightly to myself and try as much as possible to hide his face from the destructive animals.
Though, his little whimpers inform me that I am doing a shi t t y job at it. He nervously looks around us and his eyes go to his father, who is taking off his shirt and getting ready to shift.
I can’t mind link, Noah. The only way to protect ourselves is if I run to the house, and alert them of what is happening. Can’t they smell the foul scent though? Or Leo did do something?
Normally, guards are not supposed to be in the house, but outside looking out for any sign of danger. I think something is fishy here.
Baby, go,” Jace says again and I nervously gulp. They are blocking my way.
“Mummy,” My son stares in front of us and back at his father. Little Liam stretches his hand toward Jace, and I took that as a cue to leave. I can’t let him see more.
“I will cover you come on” My mate takes my hand but before we could move, an arrow is sent our way and he precisely catches it.
‘Noah’ I try the mind link and sigh when I don’t feel anything
‘Sweetheart is that you?’ his voice sounds again after a minute. Thank you, goddess.
‘Yes, we are attacked. None of your men are in sight, hurry up dad’ ‘Shi t, where the hell…f u c k baby, they are dead. Give me a second’ his words causes my senses to freeze. This is a planned attack. Leonardo came knowing what will happen, and it is evident he had a spy among my dad’s men.
“I am gonna shift, and when I do, get away from here. Go hide somewhere safe. I will find you, okay?”
My mate whispers and when he counts to three, I’m on my toes running toward the building. His wolf protects us from the arrows that keep coming and I pray none of them touches him.
Almost at the entrance, two other wolves emerge from the house and I
sigh in relief when I smell Dad’s scent. I quickly rush to the entrance and shut the door behind me.
“We will be okay, I promise. Daddy will be okay too. He will come back to us” I mutter to my son in assurance as I run my fingers in his hair. He is scared and he keeps glancing around us warily.
“Mummy, I am scared”Liam whispers and I hold his head in the crook of my neck.
His shaking body and silent sniffles break my heart. This is going to be a nightmare for him.
Mummy” He lifts his teary face up and points at the door behind us. “Daddy. Let’s go”
F u c k! he sensed the danger his dad is in. I trust Jace. He will be okay.
Your dad is like a superman, he will find us okay?” I kiss his forehead and walk to the elevator. Right now the top floor is the safest place for hiding. Before they reach us, we would have figured something out.
However, before the door could completely slide closed, a foot I know so well stops it and look at him in horror.

“Hey sweetheart,” Leo says with the same proud smirk as earlier. He is supposed to be held hostage or something. Those f u c k e r s betrayed my dad.
“You missed me right? I can see it in your eyes” What am I going to do? I don’t have a wolf-like everyone else, and it will be so hard to defend myself or my son. If I call Dad or Jace, one of them can’t take out the outside beasts by themselves.
“What do you want Leonardo?” I seeth holding My baby’s head on my chest so he doesn’t look at the vile man.
“Let’s see” Leo places a hand on his chin and glances at me. His eyes so slowly take me in and I feel every part of my body cringe. His intense glare causes my skin to crawl like a thousand needles are p r i c k i n g it” I want all of you. First, I wanna have a taste of the sweetness between your thighs” he licks his lips and smirks.
