Bryce looked at Natalie with puzzlement and said, “What are you talking about? You’re my wife, although in name only. Isn’t it normal for us to be seen like this together?”

Natalie covered her face and said, “All right, stop talking. I need to rest. I don’t want to see you.” Blood rushed to her ears in embarrassment. Natalie looked like a shy girl. He saw that she was extremely shy and didn’t want to make things difficult for her. Seeing that her injury had been treated, he picked her up. She looked at him in surprise and asked, “What are you doing?”

He said, “What else can I do? I’m carrying you upstairs so that you can rest. You can’t make it up there on your own, can you?” A smile flashed across his eyes.

Natalie was silent. She had no choice but to hold onto his neck. Bryce held her close as he carried her up the stairs. She could feel his heartbeat against her skin, and her face turned red again. This was the first time she had been so close to a man when she was sober.

When Bryce put Natalie on her bed, he could clearly sense her uneasiness and shyness. He leaned close to her ear and exhaled softly, as if he was teasing her on purpose. Natalie glared at him in displeasure, crying, “What are you doing?”

Bryce chuckled, his eyes full of satisfaction as he said, “Just saying goodnight before bed, what else?”

Natalie was embarrassed and angry at the same time. In the end, she simply closed her eyes and refused to look at him. Bryce stood up and left the room. Natalie finally understood that this man was purposely teasing her just to see her make a fool of herself. Ugh, he was a big jerk. However, her heart was pounding, and her face was burning hot. What was the reason for this? She lay for a long time thinking about why his closeness made her heart flutter before she fell asleep.

When she woke up the next morning, it was almost time to leave for work. The injury on her foot hadn’t healed much, and she didn’t have much strength left. After she had washed, she went down to eat breakfast. Because it was difficult for her to maintain her balance, she almost stumbled on the stairs. Luckily, Bryce was there and caught her, stopping her from falling.

He couldn’t help but scold her as he held her by the wrist, “Why are you so careless? Take care, please.”

Natalie said, “Thank you,” in embarrassment, not daring to meet Bryce’s eyes.

When Mrs. Perkins saw this scene on the stairs, she let out a laugh and quickly covered Liam’s eyes. Liam was confused when his vision suddenly went dark. He asked, “What’s wrong, Mrs. Perkins? Why did you cover my eyes? I can’t see anything.”

Mrs. Perkins said, “It’s nothing. I was just playing with you.” She removed her hands from his eyes and continued, “Tell me, Liam, will you be happy if you get a younger brother?”

Liam nodded, saying, “Of course I’ll be happy to get a younger brother!”

Bryce carried Natalie over. Mrs. Perkins immediately said to Bryce, “Mr. Clare, if you have another child, we will all be very happy.”

Bryce nodded in agreement. “Yes, Mrs. Clare and I will work hard to achieve that.”

Liam also chimed in, “I’m going to have a brother!”

Natalie’s face turned red. She glared at Bryce, thinking to herself, what are you talking about? Don’t you understand our relationship? He pretended not to see Natalie’s expression and continued to eat his breakfast.

After breakfast, Natalie called the office and told them she would be staying home today because of her injured foot. She gave a few simple instructions to Jill and then rested at home. Since it was the weekend and Liam was also at home, Mrs. Perkins suggested, “Mr. Clare, it’s rare to have time together like this. Why don’t we go out into the woods and have a picnic?”

When Liam heard this, he immediately jumped with joy. He looked expectantly at his dad. “Dad, I’d really love to go! Can we?” He hadn’t gone out with his father in a long time. He really wanted them to go out together.

Bryce pondered for a moment. Originally, he hadn’t liked Mrs. Perkins’ suggestion, but when he saw the expectant look on Liam’s face and the little guy’s wide eyes, his heart softened. “All right, I’ll take you out to play,” he agreed.

Liam immediately jumped up and went to his room to gather the stuff he’d need to take. When Liam came downstairs with his bag, Bryce already had everything else ready, and the four of them set off. What Liam and Natalie didn’t know was that the place they were going to today was a beach at the edge of the Clare family’s estate. There was a beautiful beach set amid lush greenery.

When Natalie and Liam arrived at the beach, they were impressed by the beautiful scenery laid out before them. Liam exclaimed, “Wow, it’s too beautiful! Just too beautiful!” With that, he let go of Natalie’s hand and ran to the beach to play. Seeing him so happy made Natalie’s heart swell with joy.

Mrs. Perkins followed closely behind Liam. She was worried that he might get hurt. Natalie and Bryce sat at the top of the beach. Bryce had told the family’s chef and several assistants to come over to cook for them, and those catering staff had just arrived. They were setting up a fancy barbecue. Seeing this scene, Natalie sighed. The lives of rich people were indeed difficult to understand. Although the Davidson family was relatively well-off, their riches were nothing compared to Bryce’s mega wealth.

The weather that day was pretty good. The sunlight wasn’t too strong, plus they were in a shady area. A nice feeling of comfort enveloped them as they sat there relaxing and enjoying the magnificent view.
