I looked at Sofia, who was now sitting in front of me.
I smiled.
“It seems Lex is sleeping at the pack house tonight,” I said. “Do you fancy a girl’s night in?”
Sofia beamed.
“Yeah,” she said. “I would love to.”
LEX
It has been a long freaking day.
Blaze grunted in my head in agreement. He has been bored out of his mind all day and nagging to go for a run or just to see Roxie for a bit.
I sighed. The mere thought of Roxie had me missing her.
When Jason had mind-linked me about coming to the office, I dreaded it. I hated paperwork, but I thought being out of the house while Roxie was arranging her Luna ceremony would help.
I wasn’t expecting to be looking through leaflets and posters that my father created about the ultimate fight that was taking place.
Some people should never be on computers, and my father was one of them. He was handy doing the paperwork, but anything that meant creating was a no.
After mind-linking Roxie, I had been staring at the screen for the last four hours.
I wanted to be there with her, but I wanted to get everything sorted.
Jason has been helping me, but he has gone to the kitchen to get some food for us. It has been excellent working alongside my friend once again. He has proven what a Beta he will be over the last few days.
The door opened and brought me back from my thoughts.
I looked up as Jason came into the room carrying a tray, and Keith followed behind him.
Keith looked at me and smiled.
“How’s it going?” he asked as he sat in the chair in front of my desk.
I sighed.
“Never let my father do this,” I said, handing him the leaflet and poster. Keith looked at it but was holding back a grin. His eyes met mine. “At least he was trying,” he said as he placed them back on the desk.
“How’s the training planning for Roxie going?” I asked.
Keith nodded.
“I have come up with a plan for training, but it will mean she will have to be more focused on it all for the next months,” he said. “No interruptions.”
I nodded.
“Well, you might have to make a few exceptions,” I said. “She still has her Luna ceremony to go through.”
Keith nodded.
“That will be fine,” he said and stared at me.
“What?” I asked with a questioning look.
Keith shook his head. “Nothing,” he said. “I was going to say, I know I’m training Roxie for the ultimate fight, but I will need help. I need at least three people training with her, people she can fight with.”
I nodded.
“I will help,” I said, remembering the re-match we discussed a few days ago. “I believe we have a re-match, and I don’t want her to hold back this time.”
I could hear a chuckle from the side, which made me look over at Jason.
“What?” I asked with a frown.
Jason stared at me and smirked.
“I have been on the receiving end of the training the last time with my sister,” he said. “She doesn’t hold back on her punches.”
“I will agree on that,” said Keith with a chuckle. “She put you on your a*s a few times.”
Jason frowns.
I sneer.
I could feel movement in my head as Blaze moved closer. “Beta is not happy,” he exclaims. “He should also take the challenge of taking on mate; I would love to see her drop him a few times on his a*s.” He chuckled the last part out, which made me feel much better. I wanted to see that too.
I looked back toward Keith.
“How about me, Jason and Huw?” I asked. “Huw has been with Roxie a few times, especially when she has been checking out the full training with the pack members. He can help too.”
Keith nodded.
“I know Sofia is there now,” he said. “I tried to pop over but could hear a movie playing. I thought I would let her have a night off, and she can start fresh in the morning.”
I nodded.
We stayed in the office for another hour until we all called it quits. Keith and Jason did; I stayed in the office and got myself ready for bed on the couch.
I knew I could go home and back to Roxie, but knowing Sofia was there with her, I didn’t want to ruin the girl’s night they had. I mind-linked an omega to bring a pillow and blanket to the office; when she arrived, she looked like I had done something wrong. I take it all women are all together when it comes to men.
I put everything ready on the couch and settled in for the night.
I laid back and closed my eyes, only to be met with Blaze staring back at me.
I frowned.
“What?” I asked.
“Mate,” he said.
I knew what he was saying, but I didn’t want to disturb her.
“We need to sleep,” I said. “We have to meet Keith by the house with Jason and Huw for training.”
Blaze nodded and settled down.
I knew sleep would be long away, but I needed to try. It was only for one night, and then I would be with Roxie in the morning.
A loud banging on the office door woke me with a start, making me shoot up with force.
I groan as I look around and spot the clock on the wall.
It was six in the morning.
Someone better be dying, I thought to myself as I got up from the couch and walked over to the door. I opened the door, and there stood Jason with a beaming smile.
“Morning, sweetcheeks,” he said. “You ready?”
A growl slipped through my lips.
“Ready?” I asked as I opened the door wider for him to come into the office. Jason stepped in and sighed. “Training,” he said. “Roxie must be awake now and even running.”
I looked at him, and then everything returned with a hard hit. I was supposed to be training with Roxie and the others.
“We can leave,” I said as I walked over to the couch, folded the blanket, and placed the pillow on top.
I knew I could get ready back at the house.
I looked at Jason, who nodded and opened the door to the office. We both walked out and headed outside.
The pack house was silent, but I knew some members would be up soon for training.
We walked toward the house. Outside was Keith, Huw with, Sofia and Roxie.
Roxie looked at me and smiled.
I felt my heartbeat more as she walked away from me and wrapped her arms around my waist as she hugged me.
I hugged her back.
“I missed you,” she whispered as she looked up at me. I leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
“I missed you too,” I said as I pulled back and looked at Keith, who gave me a knowing look. “I will get change, and we can start training.”
Keith nodded.
I walked inside and headed upstairs to our room. I quickly changed into sports stuff and ran back outside.
Everyone was outside.
I walked over to Roxie and wrapped my arms around her waist.
