Huw climbed over and grabbed hold of Demon, but he got out of his grasp and launched at me. I moved fast as he hit the ring post hard, and I gripped him and growled into his face. “Back down,” I sneered. “You lose.”
Demon glares his teeth as I grip him tighter.
“Trust me, rogue,” I said. “You will not make it out of this alive. Now, hope you tell Alpha Gareth and his son where his mate is, or I can make you suffer.”
I looked at the ring and noticed that Roxie had Tammy face down in the ring, covered in blood, punching her. I made Demon turn around but ensured I had a firm grip on him. “Or I will make sure your mate won’t leave this ring alive,” I sneered in his ear.
Demon growls.
“Luna Roxie will kill her,” I muttered. “She will tear out her heart right now in front of everyone, especially all the alphas and elders, to see how powerful she is.”
Demon stilled.
I knew I had him.
Huw was standing next to me and placed silver handcuffs on Demon, making him hiss out in pain.
Huw and I held him in place while watching Roxie completely take Tammy out.
Roxie picked up Tammy and slammed her back down in the middle of the ring, and she drove her foot into Tammy’s side. I glanced at Tammy, but her eyes weren’t own.
“Looks like my mate will win,” Demon muttered.
I held onto him as I watched Tammy’s eyes change to her wolf, but Roxie knew. I could see Bex come closer, swipe at Tammy’s neck with a fist, and drop to the ground.
“NNNNOOOO,” roared Demon as his mate spat out blood from her mouth and looked at him.
Bex went back and grabbed Tammy by the hair, pulling her toward her hard and holding her leg too.
Tammy whined as the pain came.
I knew that pain all too well, as Roxie used it on me when we fought. It felt like your stiff leg was being torn apart; there was a technique that Keith showed her, and I have to say, whatever it was, it was effective.
The announcer crouched down, asking Tammy if she gave.
Tammy growled and shook her head.
I watched Roxie hold onto Tammy and pull harder on both limbs, using everything she had.
Tammy whimpered, and her wolf came forward, but she was no match for Roxie.
After a few moments, there was a loud crack, and Tammy cried.
Roxie let go as the announcer called time.
I watched as he lifted Roxie’s arm and called her the winner.
The whole building roared into chants and cheers.
I smiled as my eyes met my mate.
She smiled, but she moved her hand from the announcer. She leaned into me and whispered.
I looked at Huw and motioned for another two pack members to come to us. “Huw, take this piece of trash to the cells,” I muttered as I watched the announcer hand Roxie, the microphone. “His mate will join him once she gets medical treatment. They will be leaving with Alpha Gareth and Nathan.”
Huw nodded as the three men took Demon away. I looked up at Nathan, who had Demon’s man on the ground. He looked at me and nodded.
I turned to look at the ring, just in time for my mate to talk.
“I want to thank everyone here,” she called out, making everyone stop what they were doing. “I wanted this ultimate fight to show you what I am capable of, and now you know. I will never back down from a fight and won’t let anyone hurt my pack. If you have a problem with us, come to us, and we will try to resolve issues of conflict between packs, but I will state this, Alpha Lex and I will do anything for our pack members, and I will not stand for anyone who will tear us apart.”
Roxie stared out, taking in every alpha and Elder.
“We will come to any aid of any friend willing to stand with us, not against us,” she continued. “I will die protecting this pack and even for my mate. This is one pack no one will defeat.”
Everyone stared at Roxie, taking in everything she had said. The fact that Tammy was lying on the floor in severe pain was nothing. They all just witnessed her break her leg and win a fight.
“I won’t be fighting in the ultimate fights again; this was my last,” she shouted. “I want to be here for my pack, as their Luna.”
I couldn’t help but feel pride wash over me.
Murmurs from pack members could be heard. I looked around and noticed many were nodding, and many were proud to call her their Luna.
“Now,” she said. “I will hand you over to Alpha Frank, so you can all carry on with the fight.”
Roxie handed the microphone back to the announcer, who smiled.
All the room erupted again into cheering and clapping at what she said.
I looked toward my father, who wore a proud smile as he headed into the ring.
I looked to where Roxie was, but she wasn’t there.
I looked around, trying to figure out where the hell she was.
I opened a mind link to her.
“Where did you go?” I asked.
There was nothing.
I looked at my father, who was staring back at me. He opens a mind link to me. “Get backstage now,” he murmured. “Roxie needs you. Don’t worry about the rest of the evening. You need to be with Roxie.”
I didn’t say anything as I turned on my heel as my father spoke to everyone else.
I didn’t know what was said, as I used my speed to get backstage. A scent hit my nose as I approached, which had me panting hard.
“MATE IN HEAT,” growls Blaze in my head.
I followed Roxie’s scent and found her room. As I approach, I turn the corner. I spot two men there, trying to get in.
I growled.
“Get. The. f**k. Away.” I grit out.
Both men looked at me, and eyes widened, their hands going up in surrender.
As I get closer, they both run.
I opened the door, only to be jumped on by Roxie as she slammed her mouth onto mine.
Her legs wrap around me, and I carry her inside while I kiss her back hard. Roxie used her strength and pushed all of her weight, making me stumble back into the door. Roxie pinned me to the door.
Her body was on fire.
She was burning up.
Roxie moved away, panting.
“TOO HOT,” she moaned and kissed me again.
f**k.
I knew I wanted her in all ways to Sunday, but her heat was one thing that wasn’t on the agenda.
ROXIE
It could only happen to me.
My heat came.
After the speech, I felt my skin prick with heat, and I knew I needed to get out of the building, or away at least.
The announcer grabbed the microphone, and I left.
I knew I should have mind-linked Lex, but I needed to get out.
I walked through the corridor and headed to my room.
My skin was on fire, and I was burning up.
Bex was panting hard in my head.
“Need mate,” she whined as I walked.
I needed to get out of dodge.
I walked toward my room, and there was no one around until I walked around the corner. Two men, who were the ones who helped set up earlier, came around the corner. They smiled at me, but all I could do was grimace.
One sniffed the air, and his eyes went to his wolves as he licked his lips.
f**k.
I quickly opened my door without saying anything and slammed it shut behind me.
