“I’m sorry, Jordan.” I told him.
“Don’t be. That bastard was about to kill my family. He got was he deserved.” Jordan said.
“Can we go home, or do you need anything else?” I asked him.
“You should go home with your family. I can handle everything here. And if I need anything, I will call Mason and Derek. You’ve done enough.” He told me and I nodded.
“I may become a lawn ornament. There’s no way I can move,” I said, and he chuckled.
“I’ll take James.” Sage said, taking a sleeping James off my chest.
“And I’ll get Gabby.” Mason said, scooping her up.
“And I get you.” Derek whispered, before standing up and then scooping me up, bridal style.
“Ashlyn, thank you again for everything that you have done today.” Jordan told me, standing in front of us.
“I’m glad l made it back in time.” I told him with a smile.
“We’ll make plans when you are feeling better. I know Melanie would like to thank you.” He said, and I nodded
“0f course. And I still want cake.” I told him and he chuckled.
“Just not pink and green icing.” He winked at me, and I giggled.
“I guess it’s a good thing that Freya destroyed it when she shifted.” When Derek walked through the portal and we were now standing in front of our home, I was thankful that could finally rest. Closing my eyes, I let Derek’s walking sway me to sleep.

Yawning, I woke up, finding that I was in between my sleeping mates. My body still felt terrible and stiff, but at least I’m alive and everyone I love is also safe. My mother really fvcked things up for me when she rejected all her mates.

Forcing myself to sit up, a fire burned in the fireplace, casting an orange hue over the room. The smell and crackling of the fire was making it hard for me to stay awake. The room was cozy, and I finally felt truly safe. I snuggled back in with my mates and went to sleep.
It must be morning, as I can smell and feel Gabby crawling into bed beside me. She snuggled herself in, placing my arm over her. I smiled to myself, with my eyes closed, wondering what she was doing and where everyone else was.

“Good morning, my Gabby bear. How was your sleep?” l asked her, opening my eyes to find her staring at me. She just shrugged.
“Did you have fun with Aurora yesterday?” I asked her, and she nodded.
“Not the part where you got hurt.” She said.
“I’m sorry Gabby. Hopefully, that will never happen again.” I told her, sitting up, wrapping my arms around her.
“I’m glad you’re okay, momma.” She told me and I k!ssed her head.
I was about to ask her where her daddies and brother were, but they came into our room from James’.
James was awake, blowing bubbles while Mason carried him over to the bed. James reached for me and I pulled him into my arms. He was growing so fast and getting so big. Mason snuggled into Gabby’s side while Derek snuggled in beside me and I had James in my lap.
“How are you feeling, Babygirl?” Derek asked me, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close.
“I still feel like a dragon hit me, but I’ll live.” I told him and he chuckled.
“That’s all the matter.” He said, k!ssing my temple.
“What time is it?” I asked them.
“It’s almost noon, but we figured you needed sleep. We have the vampires coming for dinner tonight to discuss the future king.” Mason answered, and I sighed.
“How bad do I look?” I asked them, still feeling a bit swollen. My body is probably one enormous bruise.
“Beautiful, as always, baby.” Mason said, leaning over, k!ssing my cheek.
“You guys are just so wonderful.” I told them while squeezing my babies.
“We should probably get you all fed,” Derek said, and I gr0aned.
“I don’t want to move,” I whined.
“I know, Babygirl. But how about I run you a bath while these three go make lunch,” Derek said, and a bath sounded wonderful.
“Carry me?” I asked, looking up at him.
“Of course.” He chuckled.
“Come on, Gabby. Let’s go make momma some lunch.” Mason said, taking James from me.
“I love you, momma,” Gabby said, turning to wrap her arms around my neck.
“I love you Gabby bear,” I whispered, hugging her tightly. She then scooted off the bed, and Mason leaned closer.
“I love you.” He said, k!ssing my l!ps.
“I love you,” I told him before he left the room with our babies.
“Bath?” Derek asked me, and I nodded. Derek picked me up bridal style and carried me into the bathroom.
He placed me on the counter by the sink before he turned the water on. After the tub was filling up and Derek checked the water, he came over and settled between my legs.
“Goddess, I’m so thankful that you’re okay,” Derek said, wrapping his arms around me as I rested my head on his chest.
“I could never leave my family, but I am glad that Magnus caught me. Even if it still hurts.” I told him with a chuckle.
“Never living that down, huh?” He asked, and I laughed.
“He was as graceful as me.” I giggled, and he laughed, shaking his head.
Once the tub was full, Derek lifted my shirt above my head. After undressing me, he picked me up, placing me in the tub before he str!pped down and hopped in behind me. The hot water felt heavenly on my aching body.
Derek pulled me back into his chest and we sat snuggled up together until he let out a sigh, resting his face in my neck.
“What’s wrong?” I asked him.
“What did they do?” He asked me, and I already knew what he was asking.
“Kaden and Ryan laid on me, and l!cked my neck. Nothing more. They were fighting over me, and that gave me the chance to freeze them.” I told him.
“And that’s it?” He asked, and nodded.
“The scariest part was not being able to fight back. But I needed information. As soon as I heard about a bomb, I knew I needed to find out where it was. I couldn’t let them kill you.” I told him.
“I’m sorry, Babygirl.” He said, and I turned around so I could look at him.
“It’s not your fault. It’s not even my mother’s fault, even though I wish I could blame her. This was all over the greed for power. Kaden wanted a child with me, since my mother rejected him. And I’m not sure about Ryan. He was a warlock. He’s the one that opened the portal.” I said. He leaned down, crushing his l!ps to mine.
Grabbing my a*s, he lifted me so I was now straddling him.
