Hunter punched the door in fury. It cracked under the impact of force.
Mrs. Jenna shuddered. “Alpha Hunter, I am telling the truth. Rosalie left this morning saying that she is going 10 meet Luna River.”
Hunter stepped forward in an intimidating manner. “I met with her in front of Howard’s house. So don’t give me that shit and tell me where she is,” His fangs elongated and Mrs. Jenna winced.
She inclined her neck in submission. If Hunter wanted, lie could rip her in a second and she won’t be able to do anything
“I swear Alpha Hunter” she said as tears flooded her eyes. “I don’t know where she is. All I know is that she went to meet Luna River. After that she didn’t come back.”
“Tell me where all she goes?” Hunter growled.
Mrs. Jenna was trembling so much that she couldn’t stand anymore in front of Hunter. She had never seen him this angry. His Alpha aura had spilled so much that everyone around him was shaking with fear and anticipation.
“She wasn’t going out anywhere after she came back from the castle, Alpha Hunter,” Mrs. Jenny said in a low voice so as not to offend him, “She wasn’t even going to meet her friends. But yes, she liked to go to Natalie’s place. She was friends with Natalie because the two cousins really liked each other. After you rejected her, she told Natalie that you might become interested in her.”
“Bloody bitch!” Hunter punched another hole in the frame of the door. “She used Natalie for her revenge!”
“No, no, Alpha Hunter,” Mrs. Jenna said, shaking her head. “Rosalie was very depressed but she never used Natalie for her revenge. She had no revenge motive. She had come to terms that your mate was Luna River.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Hunter yelled. “You think I am going to believe you?”
Mrs. Jenna started crying uncontrollably. “Alpha Hunter, my Rosalie is innocent and very sad after you—”
Hunter slapped Mrs. Jenna tightly across her face. She slid about ten feet before falling to the ground. A loud cry emanated from her.
Hunter turned to his team of warriors. “Go hunt Rosalie, take the lead from Howard’s house”
Elijah gave a tight nod and then along with a dozen lycans he left. Hunter turned sharply to face Mrs. Jenna. “Gimme your phone!”
She was bleeding on the lips. “Wh— why?” she said, her eyes going wide in further shock.
“Now!”
Mrs. Jenna was forced to submit to her Alpha. She got up on shaking legs and walked to the nearest long table. She picked up her phone and handed it to Hunter.
“Unlock it!” he growled.
Immediately, she punched the password. As soon as the phone was unlocked, Hunter grabbed it from her and started browsing the recent call list. There were several calls to Rosalie, but only two in the morning. Hunter tapped the number and Rosalie’s phone on the other end started ringing.
She picked up the phone on the last ring. “Mummy?” A low, dangerous voice sounded. “I asked you not to call me. I am busy.”
Hunter clenched his jaws. A muscle feathered in his jaw as he tried his best to tamper his beast down. His chest rumbled with a ferocious growl. “Rosalie,” he said- “Where are you?”
There was a short gasp and then a very long pause. When she didn’t answer, he said, “Tell me where are you.” He heard stifled mumbles in the background and his heckles rose. “And who is there with you?”
To his horror, she chuckled. “I am somewhere you would never reach.” Saying that she disconnected the call.
“Rosalie!” Hunter shouted. But the line went dead. He re-dialed her number, but the phone was switched off so Rosalie was playing a game with him.
A cat and mouse game. He was going to be the lycan he was and sniff her out. He turned to look at Mrs. Jenna and in a menacing voice said, “I will dig her out and when I do that, I am going to take my sweet time to kill her slowly and painfully. Until then, you and Mr. Jenna would be the guest in my dungeon.”
“No. Alpha no!” Mrs. Jenna cried. “We didn’t do anything!”
Hunter strode out of the house with Mrs. Jenna phone in his hand and ordered his men, “Take her to the dungeon and get Mr. Jenna too. Both of them are going to he my prisoners from now on!”
Two Lycans came to Mrs. Jenna, and dragged her to the dungeon as she resisted and cried and shouted.
Hunter took his phone and called Asher. “Where are you?” he barked.
“With the IT guys.”
“Any development?”
“They are checking the authenticity of the photos.”
“How long would it take?
“Maybe an hour…” Asher sounded frustrated.
“Check another thing I used Mrs. Jenna’s phone to call Rosalie. She picked it up and we talked briefly. Trace the phone’s location.”
“Okay.”
“Report it to me as soon as you get it, okay?”
“Yes Alpha.”
Hunter drove straight to Howard’s house. A team of warriors had already gathered and Elijah was waiting for him. He said, “We picked up River’s scent in the backyard and a team of ten warriors have already gone after it.”
Along with Elijah, Hunter went inside the house with the team and to his surprise the door was open, he could smell River’s scent in the house and his nerves rattled. “River?” he called her name gently as if hoping that she would come out of one of the rooms, but his call was met with silence.
Shoving down the anxiety, he sniffed her scent And went to the room on the first floor. The lights of the room were on and his eyes went to the floor where there were drops of blood. Dread skittered down his spine. He padded his way to the drops of blood which had caked. He swiped the blood with his hand and sniffed it. “Mia!”
“There is a hammer and ropes over here…” Elijah said, picking them up from a basket.
Hunter snapped his head to look at them. He swallowed thickly as a hundred possibilities of what could have happened came to his mind. “Fuck! Is Mia alive?” he said to himself. Goosebumps pebbled his skin. “No, Goddess, no!”
“Hunter, we must check other rooms too!” Elijah suggested. Blood had drained from his face and Hunter thought that Elijah could faint at any time. It was as if he was managing to keep himself alert somehow.
Hunter was feeling so choked that he just managed to nod once. “Ask the warriors to check every damn cupboard of this house.”
As Elijah shouted orders, Hunter went to Howard’s bedroom. Everything was fine in the room. He picked up River’s scent there. The only thing that puzzled him was where Howard was. He stepped closer to his bed and suddenly the wood beneath his feet creaked. He frowned as lie stared at the planks. He lifted his feet and stepped on them again. They creaked louder. A plank jumped up slightly. “Elijah!” he shouted. When Elijah came running, he said, “Get these planks out. There is something beneath!’
Instantly, the warriors came in. They shifted the bed to a side and then started removing the planks beneath it. One by one as they removed it, . they heard the soft sound of water splashing. After removing two more planks, they could see the corner of a glass cube. The whole cube came into view with numerous fish nibbling on something. Hunter gasped when he saw what was in it.
