“Alpha Hunter!” Rosalie said, her voice shaking. “This— this is all a set up!”
Fury returned to him in a hot wave. He took a menacing step towards her, willing his beast to recede as he turned to his human form. “Set up?” he growled.
“Y— yes!” she said as she scrambled back. “I— I can explain.”
Hunter took two more steps towards her and stood a few meters away as other warriors surrounded them. “Explain.”
Rosalie was totally shocked as to how they found her so soon. This was the remotest location she had chosen in her knowledge and she had chosen it after doing some research. It was a place that the demons used to use a long time back but the small building had become so derelict that they abandoned it. The building was nestled in a thick jungle because the demons wanted to stay hidden. It was perfect for her purpose. Her ultimate goal was to make a deal with Hunter using River as a bait. But both River and Mia tricked her. Her plan was failing but now Hunter was giving her a chance. Maybe he still liked her.
She knew this was her chance to dump the entire all*egation on River. She started, “It was Mia who k*illed Natalie. I won’t deny that I had suggested Natalie to see you, but she took things too far. I tried to stop her, but Natalie didn’t stop. She started threatening me that she would reveal your name to the world that you are stalking her.”
“And I was stalking her?” Hunter asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Sh- she said that she had pictures of you stalking her,” Rosalie replied, licking her dry l*ips.
“Then what happened?” Hunter asked.
“I confronted her in the school and Mia listened about it. Mia was so furious that she asked Natalie to stop with her gimmicks, else she was going to k*ill her.” She darted a look at the warriors and spoke a little louder. “Do you remember the letter I gave you in the morning? That showed that Mia had intentions of k*illing Natalie.” She paused, trying to see his reaction. When he didn’t react, she continued, “That night, about a month back, Mia k*illed Natalie. And after that Natalie went missing. Along with Uncle Howard, I started searching for Natalie, but we couldn’t find her anywhere.”
“Howard is also missing,” Hunter added.
“Yes, he went missing about two weeks back. My family is very bothered about his absence. But we concluded that he must have gone insane, losing his only daughter.” She stopped and started crying. “Who knew that Mia would start a chain reaction that would destroy a beautiful family?” Her shoulders wrecked as she sobbed. “However, it was River who supported Mia. She shielded Mia’s crime. She said to Mia that Natalie was of no importance and she also helped Mia in k*illing Howard. She is not fit to be the Luna of the Dark Moon pack!”
“Oh, and how do you know?” Hunter growled.
Caught off-h*and, she stuttered. “I-I don’t know. I suspect that she k—k*illed Howard.”
Hunter was so put off by her lies that he closed the gap between them and grabbed her by her t*hroat and lifted her up.
“Alpha Hunter!” Rosalie shrieked, holding his wrists as her feet dangled in the air, as she tried to take air in. “Y—you have to believe me!”
Hunter extended his h*and and Asher h*anded him some documents. Hunter hurled Rosalie to the wall behind. She screamed with pain as she hit the wall and then slid down limply. Hunter threw those papers on her face. “It was you who k*illed Natalie.”
“What?” Rosalie coughed. “I didn’t! It was Mia. And you have no evidence that I k*illed her but all the circumstantial evidence that Mia k*illed her. Natalie’s b*ody hasn’t been found!”
“You mean it was Mia who dumped Natalie’s in the water tank of her own house?” Hunter snarled.
Rosalie’s m*outh fell to the floor. Her heart started racing. She had to say something. Anything. “You mean you have found Natalie’s body. Oh God!”
“Yes,” he replied, really enraged. “We found Natalie’s b*ody floating in the tank. We also found that the old water pipes were changed to new ones and-” he stopped to study Rosalie. He could hear her increased heartbeat. He could smell her fear.
“And?” she asked in a low voice.
“And the forensic lab said that Natalie was k*illed by a hammer and ropes after she was drugged. That poor girl struggled when she was being k*illed. It wasn’t Mia who k*illed her, it was you who k*illed her. We found traces of your skin beneath her f*ingernails!”
“That’s a lie!” Rosalie barked. “That’s a lie! You are planting evidence against me. I am innocent!”
But Hunter didn’t stop. “You didn’t stop at k*illing Natalie. You even k*illed her father because he was going to expose Natalie and you to me.”
Rosalie became silent as her lies slowly got exposed.
“We found Howard’s b*ody in a fish tank beneath his room. And when my warriors went to find out about it, we came to know that they were all ordered by Mrs. Jenna.” Hunter’s footsteps sounded as he traipsed to her. “Mrs. Jenna has confessed that she didn’t know about these orders. And that it was you who used her cards to order.” Rosalie was completely taken aback. Her crime was now in the open. She scrambled back, trying to stay away from Hunter because she knew what Hunter would do.
“Your parents are in my dungeons,” he snarled. “If you think I am going to throw you in the dungeons, then—”
“F*uck off!” she shouted. “You are such a wuss. If I were you, I would have k*illed me! But you don’t have the guts in you. And I know why?” she stopped as she p*anted. “It is because you still like me. That mate of yours is a pathetic excuse for living. You should get rid of her and marry me!”
Hunter’s beast growled inside and it was so powerful that Rosalie winced into submission as did all others. ‘She is insulting our mate,’ he growled. ‘K*ill her.’
“I will get rid of you, but not like this,” he said. “You will get the worst punishment a criminal pack member could ever imagine. It is going to be slow and very painful.”
When the warriors came to lift her, she screamed and kicked, but they took her away to the dungeons.
Hunter was about to leave to be with River, when Asher got a phone call. Once he disconnected it, he said, “We have found Faria.”
