I sighed.
I didn’t like this, not knowing who I was fighting.
“Babe,” he called out, “you will fight whoever it is and beat them hands down. I will be in your corner and make sure no one will get into that ring that’s not supposed to be, I promise.”
I couldn’t help but smile.
Lex was worried that I would face Tammy Harsh again, and knowing my luck would be, I worked hard in training, knowing I could take her whatever happened. Lex was more concerned about Demon being there with her at ringside.
I permitted him to get involved in anyone I was facing who brought anyone with them; If they got involved, he could take them out, which helped settle his mind and Blaze.
I could feel movement in my head. Bex had fallen asleep after training; it was taking its toll on us.
“I need to go,” I said. “I can’t wait to see you.”
“I can’t wait to see you,” he said. “I love you, Rox.”
I felt my heart tighten at those words.
“I love you too, Lex,” I said and closed the mind link down.
Lex blurted out he loved me after the fight we did. I was shocked to hear it coming out of his mouth, even though I knew he felt that way toward me for a while but hearing those words come out of someone you cared about’s mouth was something else.
“Mate,” whispered Bex as a yawn escaped her lips.
I looked back.
“How are you feeling?” I asked, c*g my head to the side to ensure she was alright.
“I’m fine,” she said as she raised her head from her front paws to look at me. “Blaze and I talked while you were in the bath, I know why you placed the block up, and I don’t blame you.”
I smiled.
I loved hearing Blaze and Bex in my head, but I needed a break when you have been training non-stop for weeks.
“Everything okay?” I asked.
Bex nodded.
“We want this all to be over with now,” she sighed. “We know whoever you got in this fight, you can beat them, and you know I am with you all the way.”
“Thanks, Bex,” I said.
I stared at her for a moment.
“Once the ceremony is over and the fight ends,” I said as I got up from the bed and walked over to the dresser, where I placed my clothes for the evening. “We can be with Lex and Blaze more, even settled down more too.”
Bex nodded.
“You never know; we may have pups,” she said, which made me stop.
That was one topic Lex, and I haven’t talked about yet, and that’s pups.
I want them.
I could feel Bex hum, which made me look back at her.
“What?” I asked.
Bex c****d her head to the side, but after a few moments, she shook her head.
“Nothing,” she said. “Pups will come when they come. You need to stay focused.”
I stared at her for a bit longer, but she rested her head on her paws and fell asleep.
I knew I wouldn’t hear from her again, not tonight, at least.
“ROX,” called Sofia, “COME ON, I GOT THE FILM READY.”
I smiled.
Nothing I wanted to be than right here in this moment, even though my mum would have thrown something instead, but I was happy with what I got.
I quickly got dressed and left my room.
As I made it down the stairs, I took a glance at the dress bag that was hung up on the back of the kitchen door.
I knew my mum was with me; I was wearing something of hers.
I looked over to Sofia, who was smiling at me.
I sat down, and she pressed play on the film.
I was nervous, but the excitement was there too.
I was going to become the Luna of the Blue Shadow Moon pack tomorrow and fight too.
Who wouldn’t be excited?
I cleared my mind as I leaned back into the couch and cleared my mind.
I needed the quiet.
I needed to prepare for tomorrow and what’s thrown at me.
ROXIE
I couldn’t believe my eyes as I stared at myself in the mirror.
I have been at the butt crack of dawn, getting ready. Who knew I had to be exfoliated and moisturized to make myself look good for one day?
My night with Sofia was quiet as we watched two films and then went to bed. We did open a bottle of wine but didn’t finish.
I couldn’t stomach it, not after all the training I had done.
Bex and I were nervous, which meant sleep didn’t come straight away. When it did, I was out like a light.
I woke up to smelling food cooking, which I was happy to devour in a whole second. After food, Sofia invited a woman to the house to do our hair and makeup.
Three hours later, I am now standing in front of my mirror in my dress.
I looked like a princess.
My hair was in loose curls, and my make-up was light.
The design of the dress that Sofia created was perfect for me. It suited me. The length was way past my knees, as I thought, but I forgot there was a slit going up the leg. Sofia designed it for the slit to be up to the middle of my thigh, creating more room. Lace was added to make sleeves and a bodice on top of the dress.
The dress was perfect.
Sofia bought me some clear, open-toe shoes with a high white base, which pulled everything together.
I stared at myself, trying to figure out whether it was me.
I could feel Bex move in my head and purr slightly.
“You hot,” she said as she came closer to look. “You will make mate drool.”
I smiled.
“Not what I wanted to hear,” I said. “But I will take it.”
Bex was quiet, but her warmth spread through me. “You look stunning, Rox,” she said. “I think mate won’t be able to keep his hands to himself later. But I mean it, you look perfect.”
I looked back at her as she smiled.
“Thank you,” I said, trying not to cry. I didn’t want the woman to come in here to redo my makeup again.
I knew everyone was here as Lex mind linked me last night and this morning to tell me.
“ROX,” called out Sofia. “Are you ready? Your Dad and Keith are here.”
I stared at myself for a little longer but sighed.
I best show my face now.
I turned around and headed to the bedroom door, but I looked back at myself in the mirror.
I sighed and opened the door, walking out.
I headed down the stairs slowly, never taking my eyes off the stairs as I ensured I didn’t fall in the shoes. As I got to the bottom, I looked up, and there staring back, my Dad and Uncle Keith, all mouths wide open.
I stepped closer, and my father shook his head and came closer to me. “You look stunning, Rox,” he said as he held his hand to me. I took it, but he made me twirl around like he did when I was a child. I stopped and laughed slightly.
“Thank you,” I said. “The dress used to be mum’s dress. What do you think?”
