I walked toward the building.
The building was the gym area we used when we were kids. My father had people in to make it more respectable, and we used it. We had many vacant buildings, especially after Alpha Trevor’s pack attacked.
I stepped inside and was blown away by it all.
They did a fantastic job.
I walked toward the ringside and waited in the corner. I knew I had to be in as she told me where she would be. I glanced around and noticed everyone we knew was behind me.
Jason and Sofia sat together, which was a lovely sight. Jason told me last night that they had talked a lot over the previous few months. It seems having your a*s kicked a few times by your little sister would affect you.
Blaze chuckled.
I was about to turn away when Keith approached with a red-headed woman in his arms.
I walked over and smiled.
“You found her,” I said as he looked at me; he gave me a slight nod.
I couldn’t help take the woman in, something about her was intriguing, but Blaze was up in my head. “She’s a witch,” he murmured. “She is one the Elder brought.”
The woman looked at me and nodded. “Alpha Lex,” she said. “I’m Nora, I know you have worked out who I am, but I am no threat to you. I lost my home a few years back and have been living with the Elder pack since then. Elder Warrick insisted I come, but I didn’t expect to find my mate here. “
I smiled.
I looked at Keith, who had the biggest grin on his face.
I turned around as everyone behind introduced themselves to Nora.
I stepped toward the ring as an announcer stepped inside.
He looked at me and bowed. “Alpha,” he murmured.
I nodded.
He took the microphone from someone and started to call out.
“Your first fight will be Luna Roxie against Tammy Harsh,” he shouted. “First to come out is…LUNA ROXIE.”
I started toward the curtain where they opened, and my mate, my luna, stood there.
I felt proud as she walked to the ring. Her face was blank, but her eyes met mine, and I felt relief. She was nervous, but something was up. She looked like she was trying to concentrate.
“You okay,” I asked through our mind link.
“I’m fine,” she muttered. “I feel off.”
I stared at her.
“You don’t have to…” I started to say, but I was met with a growl. My eyes locked onto hers as I raised my eyebrows at her. “I’m okay,” she said. “I need to get through this.”
I stared at her for a moment but gave her a slight nod.
Roxie closed the mind link down as she climbed into the ring.
“Blaze,” I called out. “Can you tell what’s going on with her?”
Blaze moved closer but shrugged.
“Bex told me the same,” he muttered. “Something is up, but neither of them tells me anything.”
I cleared my throat and tried not to be worried and I didn’t want to let Roxie know what I was feeling.
The announcer called out Tammy Harsh. As the curtain was pulled back, she stood there, not on her own; her mate, Demon, was there.
Boos erupted.
No one liked them, that was for sure.
Demon took in everyone, even the alphas, and lunas. He looked like he thought he belonged here.
Why on earth did Alpha Gareth want Tammy and Roxie to fight again?
I glanced toward him. He was sitting with Nathan and another man who only had eyes for Nathan. Nathan looked over at me and nodded.
I nodded slightly, but Nathan stood up and moved to the barrier.
I walked toward him, and he came close.
“Why did your father want Roxie to fight her again?” I asked as he got closer.
Nathan looked over his shoulder and then back at me.
“Demon had my mate captive when he learned about this fight,” he murmured. “He wanted Tammy to fight Roxie and let her win so he could take over your pack.”
I frowned.
“That won’t happen,” I said.
Nathan smiled.
“Why do you think she is taking her on?” he asked. “Demon is not cleverer or stronger than you; he thinks Tammy will be able to fight Roxie and win. We both know they like to cheat, so I knew you would take care of him.”
“So you want me and Roxie to fight your battles,” I growled.
Nathan shook his head.
“The man I am next to is one of his men,” he said. “I can take him out when Tammy and Demon are captured. We will deal with them, but not only that, why not let Tammy get her a*s kicked by Roxie again. As for Demon, he won’t resist trying to take her out, but you will end him before he does. Demon won’t be able to fight again after this, making them traitors to everyone in this industry.”
I stared at him.
“Fine,” I snarled. “Make sure they get the higher treason.”
Nathan nodded.
I looked up and noticed the man staring at us. Alpha Gareth glared at him, but his eyes met mine, and he nodded.
“My father knows,” Nathan called out.
I looked at him, slightly confused, but it hit me.
I smiled.
I turned around and looked into the ring.
Roxie was staring Tammy down, who seemed to be making some interesting statements about being the next Luna.
I looked at Demon, who was staring back at me.
Blaze growled.
“Let me take him,” he muttered.
“No,” I said. “Let’s see what Roxie can do.”
I walked toward the ring and stood in Roxie’s corner.
The announcer ushered Demon out, who was glaring at me.
Demon stares as he goes to Tammy’s corner.
The announcer called for the bell, and the bell rang out, indicating the fight was starting.
Everyone was up on their feet, chanting.
I watched as Roxie and Tammy circled one another.
Tammy started by grabbing at Roxie, but Roxie flipped Tammy over her arm and made her land on her a*s. Roxie pulled on her arm and twisted it around her back, causing Tammy to roar in pain.
Demon growled.
I watched it.
The announcer tapped Roxie to let go, and Roxie moved back, but Tammy turned around fast, using her werewolf speed, and trapped Roxie into the corner. Tammy punched both sides of Roxie, and all Roxie could do was block each of them.
Tammy stepped back, but Roxie was too quick and kicked her in the stomach, making her land with a thud on the ground. Roxie kicked again, which hit Tammy square in the face, sending her back.
I heard movement and noticed Demon climbing the ring to get in. I used my speed, ran around the ring, and grabbed his leg, pulling him down and onto the ground.
Demon growled, and his eyes changed to his wolf.
Blaze came forward and joined me; we snarled.
I looked over to Huw and motioned him to help.
