“I’m okay,” I said. “I’m sore from our activities for the last three days.”
Lex stared at me, but a slow smile itched the corners of his mouth.
“Your heat was insane,” he said. “It affected us too. Well, the more than it should.”
I frowned.
“How?” I asked. “You weren’t burning up or anything.”
Lex moved up in bed and leaned against the headboard. His eyes never left mine.
“Not in that way,” he said. “Your scent was stronger. When your heat came, it made everything through the mate bond heightened and more prominent, and your scent would make us want you more and even send us into a mess.”

That didn’t make sense.
Lex stared at me.
“I don’t know what to say,” I said.

I walked but moved slowly to the bathroom.
