“Sure!” Please come with me.” She said to Gracie who had Sophie in her arms.
“Let’s go,” Oscar said to Vicky when the others were out of sight. He opened the door and ushered her in.
“Should we take a tour first?”
She smiled, nodding eagerly. And with their hands intertwined, they explored the villa including the outdoor lounge area that had a pool, as well as a breathtaking view. And before the duo knew it, they were back in the living room.
“We had a long flight. You should rest. We will explore the city tomorrow.”
Vicky nodded, walking side by side with Oscar to where she thought was the master bedroom.
She knew he was right. Even though she slept throughout the trip, she was still so tired.
“You go first!”
Vee playfully rolled her eyes and went ahead to connect her hand with the door handle. She pushed the door open stopped in her tracks at what she saw. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
and
Rose petals along with candles were beautifully placed on the pathway that led to the bedside. Balloons as well as star decorations were hung up from the ceiling and the bed was filled with gifts, there was hardly any space on it.
The tears Vicky was trying to hold back finally rolled down her cheeks.
Seeing that she was not moving an inch from where she was, Oscar came to her rescue.
He had no idea what to say either so he connected his hand with her cold one and ushered her in but she refused to follow him.
Oscar turned around to look at her. She shrugged her hand from his and was about to wipe her tears away with it but he beat her to it. He brought his hand to her face and wiped the tears away with his thumb.
“Let’s go in.”
She shook her head immediately.
“Why?”
She said nothing but continued shaking her head.
“I’m already tense as hell. Don’t make it worse. Please.” He said to her with pleading eyes.
“When did you come up with this? How did you manage to pull everything together?”
“There’s nothing a man cannot do for the woman he loves. There is no length he can’t go just to put a smile on her face. You are amazing, Vicky, and you deserve every good thing this life has to offer.”
“Let’s go in.” He intertwined his hand with hers again, she didn’t. time around hoping that she wouldn’t refuse him and thankfully Shutting the door behind them, Oscar ushered her deeper into the room,
Vicky started tearing up again when she saw this other part of the room. The decorations were extended to the balcony and from the glass window that separated the bedroom from the adjoined balcony, She could see a table for two set up already.
Vee had no idea what all of these were for but she had a feeling it could be what she was thinking and because of that, she wasn’t sure that her heart could contain all that was about to come.
“This is so beautiful, Oscar. I see why you didn’t want us to bring any stuff from home.”
She sniffled.
“I used to think I was a strong woman but seeing all of these, I admit that I am not one.”
“A few days after I birthed Sophie, I was able to convince myself that I would be better off without you or any other man. And that there was nothing any man could give me that would make me happy as long as I had money to gift myself whatever I wanted.”
“I would always turn down men, dates, and even friends’ hangouts. Thinking about it all right now, I admit that I was probably a bit bitter but it didn’t matter to me because I had my daughter.”
“Seeing all of these reminds me of how much you spoiled me and made sure I had everything. This proves that no matter how strong one can be, it still feels good to be pampered, to know you are loved and deeply appreciated by a man. In as much as I wouldn’t want to admit it, I won’t lie that I missed that feeling.”
Hardly had Victoria finished making her speech when She saw Oscar tuck his hand into his pocket and bring out a squared shape box.
She buried her face in her hand and was about to walk away when he held onto her by holding her arm.
“Babe, look at me.”
She paid no attention and he ended up using his finger to raise her chin so she could look him in the eye.
“This was bound to happen and no one is going to stop it, not any third party or enemy, my nervousness, or your shyness.” “God knows I have been wanting to do this shortly after we met but I didn’t want to scare you away. I know I have hinted at the topic severally but you never gave any response so I thought that you were not ready for it.”
“But I’m tired of waiting and I honestly can’t wait to make things right.” Oscar opened the box and showed it to her.
Vicky’s heart swelled with so much pride the moment her eyes connected with the piece of jewelry that was beautifully seated in the box.
Before she escaped from his presence again, Oscar felt this was the right time. He dropped down to one knee with the box in his hand.
“I know I have done this before but I put it to you that this time around, it is real and a forever deal.”
“Never have I loved anyone as much as I love you, Victoria. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with You. You are everything and more that I would want in a woman and it would be a pleasure to have you as my wife.”
“I promise to live the rest of my life making it up to you, putting a smile on this beautiful face of yours, and being the best husband I can to you and the best father to our kids.”
“I have never felt the desire to want something so bad and to take care of it like the way I do towards you.”
“Please say YES to being mine and let’s show the world what it means to be in love with the most gorgeous woman on earth.”
“Victoria, will you marry me?”
She nodded.
Seeing that Oscar didn’t react or move an inch, She voiced out her thoughts. “Yes, my love. I’ll marry you.” She said and stretched out her fingers towards him.
Oscar smiled. He took out the ring from the box, tossed the box to the side, and then slid the ring into her finger.
Victoria almost started crying all over again when the ring was well-rested on her finger. Apart from how gorgeous it` looked, the piece of jewelry fit so perfectly as though it had found its home.
Victoria watched as Oscar kissed her hand before rising to his feet.
He possessively wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her closer to himself, and placed a deep kiss on the crown of her head.
“Thank you! I wasn’t sure of your reaction but Thank you for putting a smile on my face.”
“You thought I was going to say NO?” She said with a small smile playing on her lips.
“I know you like me. But I wasn’t sure if you were ready for this.”
“I gave up fighting my feelings long ago. I tried so much to forget you but it was as if the more I tried to let go of you, the more I ended up loving you even more.”
“I’m tired of fighting the way I feel about you so I made up my mind to go with the flow. If this is the next chapter life wants to take us to then I’m absolutely ready to face it.”
“With you by my side, I know we would be able to conquer anything. Thank you for making me the happiest woman in the world. You made me cry so much tonight. I was hoping we would come in to sleep.”
Oscar chuckled, stealing a kiss from her. “I’m never going to do the bare minimum for you. You are my baby girl and I am going to make sure you lack nothing.”
“Thank you. I am definitely going to frame this statement for little miss Sophie, to remind her you are mine, especially on days when she starts to boss you around.”,
Oscar laughed out loud. “She has never been a threat and never will be. You both have special places in my heart.”
“Thank you too for making me the happiest man on earth. I give you my word that you are not going to regret this.”
“Do you care for an engagement party?”
Victoria nodded, smiling.
“We will have one when we get back home.”
“I can’t wait for you to be my wife.”
Victoria laughed out loud. “You know you can just say it, right? Instead of going through corners.”
“If you insist.” Oscar smiled shyly.
“I really can’t wait for you to be Mrs Wayde.”
“Oh, really?” She teased.
“Yeah. I don’t want anyone to steal you from me.”
“Even with this?” She waved her hand at his face, so he could see the ring properly.
“I still can’t wait until you are officially mine.”
“When would you like for us to have the wedding? Before or after the twins are born?” He asked her.
don’t think I would have the patience to wait till after they are born. I can’t wait to call you my husband.
Oscar smiled, “You’ve got a date in mind?”
“We can have it any day after this vacation. It’s going to be small and very intimate anyway. I don’t know too many people and I am sure you would want to invite your family too.”
