“You would do that?” She did see the joy in his eyes as he spoke. Victoria shrugged, smiling. She honestly had no idea why she said that.
“Let’s say I want the whole of Wayde Enterprises to know that I am back in your life.”
Oscar smiled proudly. “It would be a big pleasure to show you off. I would love for you and Sophie to come with me.”
Oscar and Vicky kept themselves busy with random conversations until their daughter was awake. Vee got Sophie ready for the day, after which she and her husband got ready too.
They had breakfast which was prepared by the chef, after which they made their way to the car where the driver was waiting for them.
While Oscar was busy answering Sophie’s questions, Vicky smiled at them and mostly spent her time giggling at the conversations the duo were making and also taking note of her environment by staring out through the window.
“Anything changed?” Oscar asked, noticing her countenance.
She turned to him and smiled. “Not really.” They were a bit apart from each other since Sophie was sitting in their middle, her attention now on her iPad.
“Does Julian still work for your company?”
Oscar shook his head. She could see the hesitation in his eyes for not wanting to speak but she was glad when he shrugged it off and decided to say what was in his mind.
“After you left, I heard of his advances towards you and how he made this workplace hell for you so I fired him. We got someone better to take over his role.”
“I’m sorry for all the pain that he caused you.”
“I don’t like it when you start to get really sad. I am over the past and trust me, I wouldn’t be here or even come to work with you if I am still triggered by all those events.”
“We are good now so there is nothing to apologize for.” She assured and her words awfully calmed him.
Oscar found himself leaning closer to her, mindful of the fact that their daughter was in their middle, and he kissed Vicky on her lips.
They heard the little Princess chuckling, making them pull away.
“No. Don’t stop, I like it.” Sophie grinned, looking from her Daddy to her Mommy and then back to her Daddy.
Vicky turned her attention back to the window, trying to hide her blush.
“You do? You like it when I kiss Mommy?” Oscar chuckled, facing his daughter.
Vee took a glance at them, rolling her eyes, before turning her attention back to the window. There was no denying that her husband and daughter loved to tease her a lot.
“Yes, Daddy. I love it very much.” The little girl’s cheerful voice came through. “Uncle Gabriel calls Aunt Lara his baby and they share really good hugs. I’m happy Mommy is your baby. You can take care of her when I’m not staring.”
Vicky’s cheeks were even more red at this point.
“Did I tell you how much I love you?” Oscar stared at his daughter with so much pride in his eyes and heart. He couldn’t believe this little angel was his and God knows he would do anything for her..
She nodded, smiling. “You told me this morning.”
Oscar smiled, kissing his daughter’s head.
“Daddy, are we almost at your office?”
“Yes, my love. We will be there in a few minutes.”
“Cool. I want to see your office. Is it finer than the one in the house?” “I’ll let you decide when you see it.”
Sophie nodded, turning her attention to her iPad.
Just as Oscar told his daughter, in a few minutes they arrived at Wayde Enterprises. The driver opened the door and Oscar got down first. He helped his daughter out first and also gave a hand to Victoria.
“Wow!!!” Sophie said when she took in her view.
Oscar chuckled. He crouched down to his daughter’s height to see the amusement in her eyes better. “You love it?”
“Is this your office?” She asked in disbelief. As far as Sophie knew in her mind, She had been to her Mommy’s office and it wasn’t this huge.
“Yes, my love. This is your Daddy’s company. Soon it would be yours. That is if you want it.” Oscar said and kissed her cheek.
He knew his kids were going to inherit all that he owned and had worked for but he had it at the back of his mind to allow his children to pursue their dream. If Sophie wouldn’t be interested in running the family’s business then hopefully one of the twins would.
Oscar picked Sophie up in his arms and then turned to face Vicky. “You good?”
Vicky nodded, smiling. She took a step closer to Oscar and kissed Sophie who was still in Oscar’s arm on the cheek.
“What about me?” Oscar pouted.
“I kissed you earlier?” She blushed, referring to when they were in the car. “I initiated that.”
Vee scoffed, slightly rolling her eyes, not believing her husband was whining like a kid because of some attention”
“Come on, mommy.” Sophie grinned.
Vee smiled, shaking her head in disbelief. She leaned closer to Oscar to kiss his cheek. He was able to move his face in time so the kiss landed on his lips instead.
Victoria intertwined her hands with Oscar’s own and then they made their way into the office building, with five guards walking behind them.
Victoria Wayde felt her heart was going to burst with pride with every step that she took. She could literally feel all eyes on her as some staff greeted Oscar.
For someone who was literally chased out of the company five years ago, it felt good to be back in here as not only a survivor but also a more important person. Vee felt there could be no better comeback than what the staff were seeing now.
She, Oscar, and Sophie really looked like a happy family. Especially Sophie who couldn’t stop smiling and making conversations with her Daddy. While holding Sophie with one arm, Oscar had his other hand intertwined with Vicky’s own and she held onto him really possessively.
Vicky couldn’t help but pat herself on the back for her outfit. While Oscar was in his well-tailored suit and Sophie in some beautiful casual clothings, She was putting on a black bodycon dress that revealed her well-defined bump, and matching boots, and her wavy hair was let down. She knew she looked gorgeous. Oscar said so to her six times this morning, right before they left the house.
She could see some familiar faces stare at her with shock and she smiled at them. She could also see some faces staring at her with admiration, they were mostly females, while some stared with so much envy. Vicky couldn’t care less because it was something inevitable. Being with Oscar meant being watched and admired by all. That included people who were jealous and all of that.
Soon, they made their way into the VIP elevator that led to Oscar’s floor.
“All my life, I’ve always had so much attention but I’ve never experienced an attention as fulfilling and amazing as this.” Oscar smiled at Vee.
She smiled back. “Why do you say so?”
“First time in public with my family. We definitely gave them a show. They probably thought I wouldn’t be happy again after Ingrid. All eyes were on you.”
Vee shrugged. “I saw a couple of familiar faces. You know we never revealed anything about our relationship so people are definitely going to be shocked seeing us together.”
“Well, they would get used to it because you’re bound with me forever.”
The door to the elevator opened and they got out of it, proceeding to Oscar’s office. He opened the door and let Vicky go in first.
“Still looks massive and very beautiful,” Vicky mumbled, taking in her environment. The only difference she noticed were new decorations and furniture.decorations
