“Yes. I had no idea what to say to her but I was able to discard the conversation.”
“Yes, they hurt you. They’ve been very nasty to you but I think they’ve learned their lesson. She was obviously manipulated by Greg. l’in a mother to three children and I know what it means to want to protect your children with all your heart. The mistake she made was taking so much control. In her head she felt she was doing what was best for you and she ended up ruining things.”
“I’m not bringing up this conversation so you can make up with them and get loved up with them. I feel you are still hurting about it. I promise you that you don’t have to keep those emotions bottled up. If you need to go see them to scold them face to face, then you should do that. They owe you so much apology. You should give them the chance to make it up to you.” “We may not be on good terms with your parents but I feel we are depriving our kids of their grandparents’ love. My parents are no more. If you don’t settle with yours, our children will never experience what it’s like to have precious moments with their grandparents. And the next time Sophie comes to me, asking that, I’m going to direct her to you.” “Honestly babe, I don’t care about your parents and neither am I pushing for this to make them happy. I just want you to do away with every form of hatred you have for them. You are still hanging onto it and I really want you to be free.”
“No matter what you do, no matter how you define them, they are still going to remain your parents.”
“I know. They don’t just deserve to be in my circle anymore.”
“I don’t blame you for saying that. They deserve it but I’m sure they feel the most terrible about it. I know how terrible I felt when Sophie refused to talk to me for a day because I lied about you. There’s no better punishment to give your parents than not being at your wedding and hearing about the birth of the twins from a third party.”
“Take your time hun, I only care about your happiness.”
“TILthink about it.”
Oscar looked closer at his boys and smiled. They look so much alike.”
“They look so much like you.”
“Thank you.” His smile got even bigger.
“I still can’t tell them apart yet.”
“I can.” Vee smiled, staring at her boys adoringly.
She felt her boys were full so she withdrew her b**bs from their mouths and Oscar adjusted her dress for her at the back.
“Oh my God, look at these cute eyes.” Vee smiled when the baby in her right hand opened his eyes.
“I can watch them all day.”
“Me too.”
“He came out first,” Vee said, pointing at the tag baby A attached to his feet.
“Should we name them already? I told the Doctor to hold on with the name registration and all of that.”
“I was thinking we should wait until Sophie comes in.”
“I agree. I can’t wait for her to meet her brothers.”
“You’ve informed Fedora?”
“Yes. I think they will be here soon.”
“He has fuller curly hair and a bigger cheek than his brother.” Vee referred to baby A on her right arm.
“He’s got fuller eyebrows. Just look at his l*ps. He’s so precious.” She smiled, referring to baby B on her left arm.
Oscar smiled too. “Let me burp him.”
Oscar carefully took his Son from his wife and placed him on the ch*st while he walked up and down the room.
Vee did the same for the elder brother. Placing him on her ch*st.
They were interrupted by a nurse who came to set up a double bassinet a few steps away from Vicky’s bedside.
Vee and Oscar were with the twins until they fell asleep after which they placed them in the bassinet.
Oscar returned to where he was seated beside Vicky earlier. He reached for her hand and k**sed the back of her palm.
“How are you? How do you feel? Are you hungry?”
She smiled. “I’m good. I feel so damn sore and tired but my heart is filled with so much joy. I thought I had it all when it was just Sophie and me. Nothing competes with the joy I feel in my heart right now. I feel so fulfilled and happy. I’m a wife to the most handsome man in the world and a mother to three beautiful kids. I never saw this coming but I’m grateful and so excited.”
“I can say the same too.”
“You did amazingly well. You were so strong. I felt useless at some point because there was nothing I could do to ease you from the pain. Thank you for going through all of that to bring our kids to the world.”
Vee chuckled. “It was painful, yeah but I’d go through that over and over again just to have my beautiful Babies with me.”
“I can’t wait for my daughter to be here so I can spoil her with hugs and k**ses.”
“She will be here soon.”
“You deserve some too. Come here.” Oscar leaned closer to her and they both shared a very passionate k**s.
“I may have done the bulk of the work but the journey was amazing because I have a very supportive husband. You mean the world to me, baby!”
“I love you.” Oscar said, stealing a quick k**s from her.
“I love you too.”
“The pilot has gone to pick Gabriel and Lara. They should be with us by tomorrow.”
“I’m excited to see them.”
Oscar smiled. “Gabriel is excited too. He sent all his love.”
“I should get you something to eat. Fedora seems to be taking lo….” Oscar was saying when a knock came through on the door.
The duo exchanged a glance before Oscar went to attend to the door.
“Mommy!!!!” Sophie yelled, running towards the bedside to go meet her mom.
Vicky smiled, mentally facepalming, hoping her daughter hadn’t disturbed her sleeping brothers.
“Hi, Uncle Oscar.” Amie hugged Oscar who was standing by the door.
Oscar crouched down and returned the little girl’s hug.
“Fedora walked in with her hands full. She had a food basket in one hand and two gift bags in the other hand. Her driver walked in with a set of balloons, decorated in blue color, and lots of gift bags which he placed on the couch not too far from the door, then took his leave.
“You brought this yourself right?”
“Yeah, I knew you were gonna interrogate me. These are different from the ones at the reception. We got this on our way here, that’s why we were a bit late.”
Oscar smiled. “You shouldn’t have bothered. You outdid yourself with the presents you gave them on the baby shower day”
“Of course, I have to bother. I want to remain their favorite aunt.”
Oscar chuckled, “You are their only aunt.”
I wanted to applaud the write you straight to the point and I love your work I want to be like you in future.
