She had no choice but to knock on Rosalyn’s door. She called out to her, but there was no response from inside. Only then did she realize that something was wrong.
Polly quickly pushed the door open and walked in. When she saw the blushing face of the person on the bed, she quickly reached out and touched her forehead.
It’s so hot…
Polly quickly lifted the quilt to help Rosalyn up. “Rosalyn, you have a high fever. Get up quickly. I’ll take you to the hospital.”
Rosalyn, unconscious due to the fever, subconsciously resisted when she heard the word “hospital.” “We’re not going to the hospital…”
“You have a fever. How can you not go to the hospital?”
Polly didn’t allow her to refuse. She carried her on her back and dr ove to the hospital.
After hanging up in the emergency room. Rosalyn took an IV drip and went to the air conditioner.
Polly knew that she had congenital heart disease.
It was easy for her to run short of oxygen if she caught a cold or fever.
Polly was worried that Rosalyn couldn’t hold on, so she asked the doctor to help her with the breathing machine
It was not until midnight that Rosalyn’s high fever slowly subsided.
Polly sighed in relief, picked up her phone, and took two days off. Then she leaned against the bed and silently waited for Rosalyn to wake.
They were all picked up and sent to the orphanage at about a year old. Apart from the director, they were the closest people to each other.
Polly raised her hand, touched Rosalyn’s pale face, and sighed with pity.
Rosalyn was unlucky. The two men she had met were both scu mbags.
For them, she had spent all her youth. But in the end, she had been injured all over…
Rosalyn had a high fever and fell into a drowsy sleep. In a daze, she seemed to see a young man reaching out his blo ody hands to her.
His face was full of pain. He opened his mo uth as if he had said something, but Rosalyn was too far away to hear him.
She subconsciously moved her feet and walked toward him. “What did you say?”
The young man suddenly stopped talking. His clear eyes were fixed on her.
It suddenly rained heavily in the night sky, washing the youth’s blood-stained face clean.
Only then did Rosalyn see his face. She rushed forward anxiously and shouted, “Ryan!”
The scene suddenly changed, and the young man disappeared. She saw herself kneeling at the door of the nightclub.
A man with a black umbrella walked up to her and asked condescendingly, “Are you clean?”
She nodded with a blush and gently put her hand in his palm.
When he held her hand, she saw that the hand holding her suddenly turned into a pair of blo ody hands.
The man in front of her also turned into that ferocious young boy. His eyes were red. He grabbed her neck and roared at her.
“Rosalyn! Why did you sell yourself to him? Why did you betray me? Why did you do this?!”
Rosalyn shook her head desperately. “No, no, it’s not like that…”
She shouted and explained, but the young man still pushed her away and turned to leave.
Rosalyn caught up with him and grabbed his clothes. She cried and shouted, “Ryan, don’t go!
Polly heard the successive cries of Rosalyn and was frightened. She quickly nudged her.
“Rosalyn, what’s wrong?”
Rosalyn gradually came back to her senses. She slowly opened her eyes, only to see that Andrew and Ryan had disappeared, leaving only Polly worried.
Only then did she realize that she had just had a nightmare. She had dreamed of the past and the people she did not want to see.
She cleared her mind and swallowed her saliva. She raised her hand to get some water, only to find an IV drip on her arm.
“You have a high fever, so I brought you to the hospital.”
Seeing that she was in a daze from the fever, Polly explained softly, picked up the gla** of water next to her, and helped her drink it.
After drinking a few sips of water, Rosalyn slowly regained a little vitality.
“Polly…”
“I’m here.”
Polly responded gently. She lifted the hair on her forehead that was wet with sweat, put it behind her ear, and asked softly, “Are you hungry?”
Rosalyn shook her head with difficulty and asked, “Did the doctor tell you anything?”
She had heart failure and hadn’t figured out how to talk to Polly about it. Now she suddenly fell ill and was sent to the hospital. She was afraid that Polly would know everything.
“The doctor didn’t say anything. Seeing you had a high fever and were in a coma, he gave you an IV drip. The blood has been drawn, and the report should be out now.”
After that, Polly got up and went to get the report. “I’ll go get it now.”
Rosalyn quickly stopped her. “Polly, I’m a little hungry. Can you buy me something to eat first?”
Polly nodded. “Then wait for me for a while. I’ll buy you some porridge.”
After watching her leave with her bag, Rosalyn struggled to get up.
She pushed the IV drip, walked to the report machine, and took it out.
Her me ntal functions were incomplete, and a blood test would show that she had heart failure.
She didn’t want Polly to see it. She was afraid she would be sad and afraid of facing her death.
They had grown up together and relied on each other for survival.
If Polly knew she was about to di e, she wouldn’t be able to bear the b low.
Rosalyn tore the report into pieces and threw it into the trash can so Polly would not see it.
She turned around and wanted to push the drip machine back to the ward, but she saw more than a dozen luxury cars suddenly driving in from outside the emergency room.
A group of bodyguards in black suits exited the car and escorted Andrew out.
He hurried into the hospital with Crystal in his arms.
When Rosalyn saw his anxious look, her heart slowly sank.
She remembered that she came to the emergency department because of a heart attack when she was with him.
What kind of reaction did he have then?
She remembered that he was standing by the bed and looking down at her, who was curling up in pain.
He contemptuously threw her a bank card as if she were a beggar.
He felt she was pretending to be sic k to gain his sympathy and
get more money from him.
Thinking of this, Rosalyn suddenly smiled, and her eyes were full of lears.
