Filed to story: The Luna Mated to Triplet Alphas Novel
“Are you alright Sophie?”
I asked. She sniffed again and then she made eye contact with what she was looking for.
“Mate.”
was all she said. I followed her line of sight and was shocked at who was at the other end.
Roy’s POV
After the tournament ended I went back to my room. Alex came about 30 minutes later. After he had showered and changed.
“I am so nervous about talking with Jess. Even more so after she kicked my ass in the ring.”
Alex said while I was getting dressed for dinner.
“Trust me dude. I know how you feel. I am just as nervous. I am more scared of her than the triplet alphas. I hope she will forgive us and in time we can fix our friendship.”
Alex nodded
“Yea. I don’t know if she completely blocked our bond or what, but while she was fighting I didn’t feel any of her pain.”
“Well did you feel her pain when the pack and us would beat on her?”
I asked him and he looked down with a sad expression.
“I guess if she was in enough pain I felt it. Like when she shifted all alone, or when you rejected her and cheated on the bond. Other than that I guess being mad at her like everyone else just numbed our bond. Trust me my wolf, Spike, was just as mad at me as she was when she snapped at me during the party yesterday.”
“Yea. Max was upset that she has moved on, but he believes that if we let her go and let her find the happiness she deserves, then the Moon Goddess will forgive me as well and bless me with another mate. I would like to have my own fated mate before the elders force me to take a chosen mate.”
Alex shook his head.
“I can’t imagine being with anyone that wasn’t Selena, or to have to choose someone you know isn’t your fated mate.”
I nodded.
“Though I may have to suck it up because second chance mates are so rare, that most wolves take their own lives when their mate dies.”
Alex then tilted his head in confusion.
“Your father seemed so put together after your mother died, and he still seems to be doing ok now.”
I shook my head.
“He only seemed together because he was the alpha of the pack. So many wolves depended on him. He used Jessabelle as a focus point to keep his sanity. Though dad regrets it as much as we do.”
I saw Alex’s eyes widen.
“How do you know he regrets it?”
“Dad actually emptied out half the were-wine from the cellar at new years. He was actually so drunk that his wolf took control of his body and talked to me.”
Alex looked like he wanted to say something, but I continued with my story.
“Dad’s wolf was a very proud and strong wolf, so it came as a surprise to hear him more heartbroken and ashamed of himself for letting my father treat Jessabelle that way. His wolf is the only thing keeping him together now and he said that he would not let my father die until he could apologize to Jessabelle himself.”
Alex smiled a bit.
“Well once we tell him we found her I think we know where he is going next.”
I smiled back at him.
“Yup and who knows maybe the bond between you and Jess will be fixed tonight as well.”
Alex laughed along with me.
“I wish it was that simple, but we have each blocked each other for so long. I’m not sure if our bond is repairable.”
He looked down so broken and sad as he continued.
“Twins are supposed to be able to feel each other’s emotions and always be together. I pushed her away for so long, and when she finally left and cut me out. I never felt so lost. A part of me was missing and I couldn’t find it for 5 long years, and then when I finally find her by chance. She was so scared of me. She couldn’t even look me in the eye until our match.”
I tried to cheer him up with a joke.
“Is that why she kicked your ass in the tournament?”
Alex half heartedly chuckled, but then looked out the window with a sad expression.
“Honestly she wasn’t really pissed at me while we were fighting. It didn’t feel like she was doing it for revenge. It felt like she was doing it to prove to me, you, and to the pack that shund her that she was no longer the same weak girl we use to beat on. Though most of all, it felt like she had to prove it to herself. She is much stronger than any of us gave her credit for, and I am not talking physical strength either.”
I finished dressing while listening to him. He sounded so proud of Jess, but heartbroken at the same time. There were many things that they each missed out on. Each other’s first shift, each other’s birthday, Jess wasn’t even there for Alex’s wedding with Selena. Would she invite Alex to her wedding with the triplets?
There was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
I answered. The door opened and it was Selena. She smiled and went straight for Alex. She was in a nice pink dinner dress that went to her knees and black heels.
“How did I know you boys would be in here licking your wounds?”
She giggled and nuzzled her mate.
“We were just talking about what we are going to say to my sister. I hope she gives me another chance to be a better brother, but I am doubting myself.”
Alex said while holding Selena closer to him. Alex was scared of how our talk with Jess would go, but he was a brave man to admit it to Selena. When he found her 3 years ago he told her all up front what he had done to Jess and Selena was mad at first, but she helped him work through it all.
“I am sure it will take some time, but I think she will come around and give both of you boys another chance. Everyone deserves the chance to do the right thing.”
Alex and I both smiled at Selena’s way of thinking. No matter if you’re facing the devil himself, when she speaks it always gives you hope that you will win.
“Well how about we go to the dining hall before I lose what never Selena just gave me to face Jess tonight?”
Selena and Alex both laughed at my joke as we made our way to the dining hall. Halfway to the dining hall I got hit with a sweet scent. It smelled like an ocean breeze mixed with lilacs. It was so faint that I just brushed it off as a candle or some omega’s perfume.
We got to the dining hall and it seemed that Jess and the triplets were not here yet. So Alex, Selena, and I just sat down at a table that would fit all of us. “Oh I forgot something to give Odette. It’s in my room I’ll be back boys.” Selena said as she got up and walked out. We waited for about 20 minutes before I smelled that same ocean breeze and lilac combination again. Max started to stir and fuss around in the back of my mind.
“Dude, chill out would you. What is wrong with you?”
he didn’t answer, just kept stirring around. Then I was hit with a big whiff of the scent that Max started to howl in delight.
“Mate.”
he said and howled again. I snapped my eyes to the door and right there next to Jess was a small and beautiful young woman with dirty blonde hair and wearing a dark green cocktail dress that went down to her mid thighs. I stood up so quick it startled Alex.
“Bro you ok?”
Alex asked but it was like he was miles away. When she finally locked eyes with me it was like we finally connected.
“Mate.”
Max and I said in unison.
