“After dealing with Gardner Group, our next target is Walsh Group. Since Mr. Jeremy has given the word, I suppose I should join the game, +15 BONOS
Liana walked away, sobbing.
The maids were gushing about her hysterics. Her visits never failed to end up with antics and her leaving the place with tears. They wondered if she deemed Seaview Manor as her personal playhouse.
Jeremy sat still on the couch. He stared at the jumble of cloth for a long time.
“Mr. Jeremy, it’s getting late. Here’s some milk. You need to get some sleep.” Rosie handed him a glass of warm milk.
A heavy sigh escaped Rosie’s lips as she gazed upon the ruined suit. “What a shame.” Her words meant something deeper.
“The next time Lia stops by, keep an eye on her. Stop her from entering my room and study. Oh, and Allison’s room too,” Jeremy instructed in a low voice.
“Don’t worry. Your wish is my command. I will watch her every move,” Rosie promised confidently.
She then added, “Luckily, I locked Madam Allison’s room. Otherwise, Ms. Gardner might have sneaked in and caused a mess.”
“Don’t put it that way, Mrs. Rosie. Lia isn’t that bad of a person. After all, I owe her for the past three years.”
“What about Madam Allison? Has she done anything wrong? Don’t you feel sorry for her after the divorce?” Rosie’s voice rose to another octave without her realizing it as she defended Allison.
“The person Grandpa coerced was me, not her. She could’ve chosen not to marry me.”
“Are you saying that she deserves all this?”
Jeremy pursed his pale lips.
“Rest up. I’ll be out of your hair.” A gloomy Rosie left the room with grudges. She took the milk with her too.
He blinked his eyes and drew a sharp breath, wondering, “Is she mad? I’m not finished with the milk yet, though. Since when did Allison win the hearts of the people I care for? What a calculating person.”
As the bearer of bad news, Liana returned home in a forlorn state.
Without Backett Group’s funding, Gardner Group would be in serious trouble, and turning things around would be difficult.
“What’s that brat, Jeremy, doing? He claims to love you so much, but he acts like a douchebag. Do we mean nothing to him?” Dylan hurled the ashtray onto the floor. His eyes reddened.
“How is he not in love with me? He divorced for my sake without hesitation.” A sobbing Liana tried to redeem her pride.
“I bet he’s weighing the pros and cons. At least, you’re from a rich family. And what does Allison Burton have? How can a rag be compared to riches? Even a fool knows who his best pick is!” Dylan stated.
Although Liana knew Dylan was on her side, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that he was somehow belittling her.
“Lia, why did Mr. Jeremy change his mind out of the blue? What happened?” asked Andrew in distress.
“I don’t know either. Jeremy met Ms. Alyssa today. And his attitude took a one–eighty turn after returning home. He said he’s not going to help us anymore “Dad, Dylan, did you guys do something in the back, and someone found out about it? He seems to hate our family …”
“F***! Is it because of his ex–wife, Allison?” Dylan thought of something.
“What do you mean?” Liana became jittery at the mention of Allison’s name.
“A few days ago, I was at the Harpers‘ bar, and I bumped into that crazy woman. Jeremy ended up helping her out and made me apologize to her. It’s ridiculous!” Dylan held onto his resentment and humiliation.
Liana’s face darkened at the thought of Jeremy possibly having feelings for Allison.

*Enough. Things will get better once Lia becomes Mrs. Walsh.” Seeing how Liana’s gaze had turned frosty, Rosalina comforted her.
“That Allison is just a cast–off. No matter how calculating she is, she can do nothing in this situation. Our main focus now is to change the public’s perception of us. We need to find a scapegoat. That’s our top priority.” Rosalina continued.
“A scapegoat?” An idea fleeted on Dylan’s mind as he smirked. “There’s no better candidate than him.”
Gardner Group was on the verge of collapse. Not only did they fall from grace, but more than ten of Elysian Home’s physical stores in Solana City were now deserted.
Worst still, Jeremy had decided not to help them out. If they did not come up with a solution soon, they would be done once the funding from Walsh Group ran out.
Meanwhile, Taylor Group won the public’s favor upon exposing the Gardners’ true colors.
After a long period of flying under the radar, KS World Hotel was finally gaining some attention.
“I’ve been doing as you asked. I’ve been keeping an eye on Michael ever since you tired him. As you’d expected, he has been in personal contact with Dylan. It happened not only once,” reported Sean.
Sean held Alyssa’s hand as he manicured her nails. He exclaimed, “Everything is unfolding just as you predicted. You totally hit the bullseye. You know what he was thinking.”
“He embezzled the hotel’s funding and conspired with Dylan behind our backs, I guess they have a deep bonding.” Alyssa smiled, relishing his manicure service.
Alyssa then declared, “Gardner Group will hold a press conference during the weekend. I’ll show you what it means by ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed.””
The new mattresses were delivered today. Excited, Alyssa checked on the quality with Sean.
“Ms. Alyssa, you don’t have to do this. The Housekeeping Department and I can handle It.”
Sean persuaded her.
“I’m not a fragile doll. I’ve fired guns on battlefields. I’ve carried out hundreds of casualties and saved even more patients. So, tell me, how tiring can a quality check be?”
As soon as she finished, a trace of bitterness flashed in her eyes.
She recalled a past incident when she saved Jeremy during a war in Luminara. He had been shot in the leg and shoulder, and despite his pleas for her to leave him, she insisted on staying by his side.
“Just leave me and go! I’m telling you to leave! Just go!”
“No! Even if you’re dying here, I will not abandon you! If I have to go, we have to go together!”
Alyssa was ment*lly prepared to meet her demise at that moment. Jeremy was nearly 6’2
feet tall. With her strength alone, carrying him back to the safe zone would be impossible.
Alyssa believed that dying together signified their unwavering bond through thick and thin. She felt ready to face her demise without any regrets.
A bitter smile appeared on Alyssa’s lips as her heart throbbed with every beat.
Alyssa realized that Jeremy had broken her heart and profoundly impacted her life. She questioned whether meeting such a charming person at a young age had been a mistake.
Alyssa and Sean walked to the unloading bay, where the employees unloaded the stocks.
The Director of the Housekeeping Department was even more Impressed as he saw Alyssa personally unloading the stocks.
With Sean’s help, Alyssa climbed onto the truck and unpacked one of the packages. She felt the material of the mattress and sat on it before expressing satisfaction.
“All good. Unload everything.”
Suddenly, a blue Lamborghini approached with a roaring engine.
