I grinned and turned to see Mom and Galen coming through the pack.
They looked terrible. Mom’s hair was actually a mess for once, her dress was bloody.
Galen was torn to shreds, his wolf covered in all kinds of shit.
Mom wrapped her arms around me, “You did it,” she smiled.
I shook my head, “No, we did.”
All of us. We all looked like shit. We had all fought.
Even the vampires.
I eyed Evelyn and her warriors who were to the side of the pack.
She gave me a half-assed salute and I knew that was the only goodbye I was going to get.
‘Thank you,’ I mouthed.
She nodded and they sped off.
How did she still look so good even after fighting for hours?
Kai grunted next to me and I looked at the wound on his stomach.
“Cain?” I asked, not sure if I could heal something so deep. I was still weak from having my magic siphoned.
He nodded and came over.
Brax and Derik laid Kai on the ground and Cain moved over him, his magic working its way through his nerves and tissue to reconnect them.
“Fucking hell, that fucking hurts,” Kai snarled.
I smirked. He was going to be fine.
I held Alaric tighter, glad to finally have him safe in my arms. Then I turned to Beenie, tears in my eyes.
“I thought you had betrayed us. I’m sorry for thinking that,” I admitted.
She shrugged, “I had to let you think that. I needed you to have the right emotions and reactions or she never would have fallen for it. That’s why Derik went all Alpha,” she smirked as Derik came over and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, kissing the top of my head.
“I had to sell it. No way I’d let Alaric get taken without putting up a fight,” he grinned.
“Wait. You knew that was the plan?” I asked.
He nodded, “I’ve been at the mercy of the realm’s fate a few too many times not to notice when it is finally playing its hand,” he smirked then pulled my lips to his.
I kissed him back. He was so damn smart, it still amazed me.
He looked down at Alaric, “Can I hold him for a while or do you still need him?” He asked.
I handed Alaric over, “I do. I need them all but I also don’t have enough arms,” I smiled.
He grinned and rolled Alaric into him.
Then I held my arms out for Enzi.
She came straight away with a huge smile across her dimpled face.
“My little realm savior,” I smiled, wiggling my nose against hers.
She giggled and cuddled into me.
Then she whimpered and caught me off guard. I pulled back and checked her over, “What’s wrong? Are you okay?” I asked her.
Then I looked where she was looking.
Brax was sitting next to Kai who was holding his hand, cursing Cain out.
Brax rolled his eyes, “You just took a sword hit better than this. I would say thanks but I might stab myself so I don’t have to listen to your girly whine anymore,” Brax taunted.
I laughed and took Enzi over. She climbed onto Brax’s lap and he held her. She put her hand on Kai’s hand too.
I went to turn so I could get Zale when Enzi’s hand glowed and Cain gasped.
Kai sucked in a breath too, his wound stitching back together as easily as it had been made under Enzi’s glow.
“Enzi,” Brax let out on a whispered breath. She smiled and looked up at him.
“Dadda,” she said in the cutest, softest voice. My heart melted. And Brax’s eyes welled. He kissed the top of her head.
“Yeah baby,” he whispered, “Dadda’s here.”
A tear made it out of the corner of my eye and I wiped it away. There would be time for tears later, for now, I needed to enjoy my family.
I grabbed Zale from Beenie as Kai got up. Brax did too, holding Enzi.
I was about to address everyone, the pack, thank them but Kai moved into me, kissing me roughly.
Then he pulled away, holding my face in his, “I thought she was going to kill you, Little Luna. I was glad for the wound in my stomach. I was ready to go with you,” he said then pulled my head to his chest, holding me tight.
Which would have been cute and exactly what I needed but was actually hard to do because I was holding Zale.
I pulled back, kissing his cheek.
“I can’t leave. I have heirs to raise, Alphas to enjoy, family to rebuild with,” I whispered.
He kissed me again.
“Alphas, Luna. You might want to see this,” Ryleigh’s voice said as she came forward with Althea and Vaughn.
She was covered in dirt, her skin torn on her hands.
She had been helping hold the tunnels up, and she must’ve done a good job because the humans were slowly filtering out of the huts that led to them. The ones that weren’t destroyed at least.
But looking at the village, I winced. Most of the huts were destroyed. All but the main one really.
I’d have to help with that. But not yet because Ryleigh led us a little over the hill and into the forest.
“The rogues,” she said, frowning, stopping in front of a naked body.
I gasped.
I had assumed they had been killed and that the rogues had retreated as soon as we had killed the witch, but they hadn’t. They had shifted back.
I handed Zale over to Kai and knelt down to the witch.
One of the good ones. I checked for a pulse, my own racing.
He was alive.
“Get some clothes and blankets!” I called. Then I looked up through the forest bed that was littered with bodies, “A lot of them!” I added.
Everyone rushed off to collect some warm things for the witches.
I brushed my hand over the forehead of the one I was knelt in front of and he blinked slowly.
He had wide white eyes and looked up at me.
He slowly got to his feet then looked at the family I had with me.
My Alphas, my heirs, my Mom. Cain, Beenie, and Galen. Ryleigh, Vaughn, and Althea. Even Anetta and her husband hovered.
Then the witch smiled.
