I grinned as she collapsed, her eyelids fluttering closed as she sighed. She was our mate. Our perfect Luna. And now, our fiancee.
“I love the feel of all your come inside me,” she whispered on a breath before she fell asleep, a slight snore escaping her nose. I couldn’t fucking wait to marry her.
4. The Rehearsal
Lorelai
“Lorelai, please take this seriously,” Mom scolded as I tripped for the third time down the aisle towards my grinning Alphas at the altar.
Mom helped me correct myself and put her arm through mine again.
I was in a long dress, not my wedding one, but another one so I could practice walking down the aisle.
“I’m trying, Mom, but I just don’t see why we need to practice. We can turn up tomorrow and let it happen. Does it matter if I trip?” I asked.
Mom pursed her lips and nodded to Cain who started strumming a melody on the guitar.
It was beautiful and had specific beats for our steps.
I was terrible at timing but Mom held my arm tight and made sure I got it right.
“Mommy! RJ stole my flower basket!” Enzi wailed from the end aisle as her brother Rowan Jr. ran away with her basket and a devilish grin.
She was dressed in a white dress with little white flowers sewn in. She was dropping petals over the aisle before we walked.
It made it look beautiful and despite not understanding why we needed to make such a fuss, I did appreciate the work Mom had put in.
The village courtyard was beautiful thanks to everything she had done.
White snow dusted everything and Mom had turned it into something special, hanging lanterns everywhere, white lilies and roses in bunches over the guest seats, decorating the altar.
I carried a bouquet of them. My mates wore a smaller bunch on their shirts.
Kai tugged at his shirt again and I hid my smirk. He was trying not to lose his shit at the clothing but I knew from Brax that they’d already gone through three because he kept wolfing out of them.
Zale, Alaric and Rowan matched in white pants and shirts. RJ was hiding behind Kai with the basket.
He looked so eerily similar.
So did Zale and Alaric. They all looked like their fathers. Enzi was my mini-me. Her wide navy eyes filling with tears as I eyed them.
Kai stepped aside so Enzi could stalk after RJ.
“Dad!” RJ scoffed.
Kai shrugged, “Probably shouldn’t have stolen from your sister,” Kai raised a brow at him.
RJ sulked and handed back the basket before folding his arms with a frown that matched Kai’s half the time.
I smiled at them.
It had been a perfect few years and they were growing so fast. They were only five and four but their minds were so advanced.
My Alphas said it was how they had grown too. The Alpha magic, they called it.
Alaric stayed by Derik, holding his hand as he stared out at everything.
He was a watcher, always taking everything in like he could figure it all out if he saw enough. Just like his dad.
Zale was talking to Brax, his eyes white as Brax grinned at whatever they were talking about.
Galen stood at the altar, waiting with some parchment, ready to announce our wedding.
Uncle Rowan, Evelyn and her vampires, Lucien, Ryleigh, Vaughn and Althea, Tabby, Anetta, Hank, Adrenna, Parker and their son, Leo were all there, spread out in the seats.
Tomorrow the seats would be full. The entire city of werewolves was coming, the pack determined to see their Alphas and Luna marry. The humans were just as excited to see a winter wedding.
No human wedding ever happened outside of the choosing ceremony.
Hopefully they would now.
Especially since Mom had ditched that awful tradition.
Cain and Beenie were on music and were still playing as we walked.
I made it to the front where my Alphas were and Mom let out a relieved breath.
“Finally,” she smiled.
I grinned and gave her a kiss on the cheek, “Thanks Mom, this is beautiful,” I said.
I had given her the reins on a lot of the ceremony.
I had never been the girl dreaming of the day I would marry. She had always been the Mom dreaming of it for her daughter.
“Oh it’s not finished yet, Sweetheart. I have more lanterns coming, more bouquets are being worked on. The reception hall that we have put together in the barn is still being put together. There is still so much to do,” she admitted, looking too stressed.
I put my hands on her shoulders, “Mom, I know you want it to be perfect, but just being there is enough,” I said.
She gave me a smiled, “No. It’s not. But it will be perfect and then we can relax,” she said, sweeping off to sit in the chairs.
She eyed her grandchildren and they moved quickly to sit in the seats next to her.
They had been instructed to do so only about a hundred times in the last five times we had gone over everything.
Galen cleared his throat and looked down at his parchment, “It will be a full moon so make sure you’re not touching too much or you’ll set off the wolves with the power. I’ll read over the traditional words, you’ll each say something for the other.
Then you’ll put the rings on.”
“I’ve got Mom’s,” Zale smiled, holding the box out.
“I’ve got Dad’s,” Enzi had Brax’s.
“Dad’s is safe,” Alaric said, nodding to Derik who gave him one back, a proud smile on his face.
RJ tapped his pocket, then tapped it again. Then his eyes went wide. He looked all over himself.
I laughed, his worried face was Kai all over.
“I had it, but-“
Beenie walked over then and handed him Kai’s ring box.
“Thanks Aunty B,” RJ grimaced and sat down, putting it in his pocket.
She ruffled his head with a small smile, “No shifting until after the wedding or you’ll lose it again, got it, Trouble?”
He nodded, blushing across his high cheekbones, “Got it.”
RJ wasn’t as refined as my other children, but Kai wasn’t as refined as my other mates, so I loved it about both of them.
‘ Sorry, Mom,’ he mouthed at me.
I smiled back at him, blowing him a kiss. He grinned and sat back.
“Once the rings are exchanged, I’ll announce you all as husbands and wives. And you’re happy with being announced as Valarian’s?” Galen carried on.
I checked my mates. They had insisted on getting the name change.
“Yes,” Kai didn’t hesitate.
“The packs aren’t separated anymore, we’re one and we should have the same names to represent that,” Derik said.
“I want the same name as Lorelai. But also as our kids,” Brax nodded.
