“Valarian it is then,” Galen said then started going over the schedule, “You’ll walk back down the aisle together. We’ll sign the wedding parchment and then head to the reception, understood?”
We all nodded. I figured that was right, Mom would have already spoken up if it wasn’t.
I waited, so did my mates, not sure what happened next.
Mom eyed me and I knew I must’ve forgotten something.
“What now?” I asked.
She rolled her eyes, “Down the aisle you go,” she ordered.
“Right,” I grinned then Derik put his arm through mine, so did Kai. Then Brax came to give me a kiss on the cheek and we made our way down the aisle towards the barn.
When we got there, my mouth dropped. I couldn’t see what else Mom could get done. It was beautiful.
A wedding table sat on a platform at the head of the barn.
It had long tables, enough to fit everyone in. And every single table had flowers, lights, runners of hessian, wooden name plates for seating arrangements.
It was stunning.
The walls had hanging lanterns with lights, the aisle to the bridal table was lit with candles and petals.
I couldn’t believe how much effort she had put in.
Tears stung my eyes and I looked over my shoulder as she came up behind us, chatting with Galen about the wedding.
“Is it okay?” She asked, a worried frown on her forehead.
“Mom, this is amazing, thank you,” I said.
Her frown disappeared and she grinned.
The kids ran inside and looked at all the names, trying to find theirs. They were up front with Mom and Galen, Rowan, Cain and Beenie, Ryleigh, Vaughn, Althea. And Tabby of course.
“Shall we have dinner then?” Mom asked.
I nodded, still speechless.
“You four sit at your table at the front and we’ll go into more details,” Mom said.
I did what she asked, moving to our beautifully dressed table.
It had wooden Valarian lettering in front of it, painted with white flowers, waves, snowflakes and vines.
Mom had thought of every detail.
Derik held my seat out for me and we sat down. Initiates came in and served us ale and put our roast in front of us.
They served the others who had found their places and sat down. Mom stood and raised her goblet.
“The same serving order will follow tomorrow. We will enjoy our food and drink.
And have speeches. How many of you will do one?” she asked.
Lucien put his hand up. Galen. Uncle Rowan. Anetta. Adrenna.
Mom too.
She counted all the hands and nodded. “Well, no longer than two minutes each then,” she said.
I smiled at her and she took a sip of her wine. “Then we can do the cake, the first dance.” She turned to my Alphas, “Have you learned your dance yet?”
They all nodded but I felt the lie and held back a laugh, drinking some of my own wine.
Derik had learned fast. The other two were learning. We had spent more time laughing and fucking than actually dancing but I was sure we’d have it by tomorrow.
Or my mother might just put Galen on them.
“And you understand the music at each point?” She eyed Beenie and Cain.
They both nodded.
I was pretty sure they were all seeing a new side to my Mom and it was terrifying. I had grown up with it, desensitized to it but the others? They were learning that my mother was not a pushover.
I smiled and the rest of the dinner moved uneventfully as we ate and enjoyed each other’s company.
We had invited the witches but they had said they would watch from the mountain.
They weren’t fans of winter and instead, wished us a wonderful ceremony.
And sent us gems from in the mountain that were more beautiful than I had ever seen.
We had used them for the rings we’d had made.
I sighed and leaned back in my chair, my stomach full as dinner came to an end.
I just wanted to take my Alphas back to our suite and be ravished before falling asleep with them but my mother had other ideas.
She stood up and came over, “Ready to go, Sweetheart?” she asked.
I looked at my Alphas longingly.
“I was thinking that maybe this one part of the wedding tradition could be forfeited?” I asked hopefully.
Mom’s brow furrowed, “It’s bad luck,” she said as if that explained everything.
“Mom, I just don’t think the realm would be offended if we spent the night before our wedding together,” I tried.
I should have known better.
“Lorelai Valarian. You are not going to spoil tradition and risk the realm’s wrath on your wedding just because you can’t handle your libido are you?” she said, her voice on the edge of condescension.
I sighed, “No. But I want to,” I murmured.
‘We do too, Spitfire,’ Brax said in our link.
‘But your mother has done so much for us and our wedding, we should appease her for one more night,’ Derik added.
He was right, of course.
‘I’ll sneak in and fuck you later, Little Luna.’ Kai grinned at me.
I hid my laugh, my tongue in my cheek as I eyed him, hoping that was a promise.
Mom saw my eyes dart to Kai.
She huffed, “Galen will be guarding the hut. No sneaking in or out,” she smiled.
And that made me want it that much more.
‘This means a lot to your mother. I know it seems like too much but it is only because she cares. I hope you understand that before you try to test me tonight,’ Galen said in the link.
We all bowed our heads. He was right and his guilt trip worked.
I nodded and moved to Derik who was on my left.
I kissed him slowly, “Goodnight, D. Sweet dreams.”
I moved to Brax, kissing him harder, our shadows caressing each other, entwining as we indulged in each other, “Goodnight,” I whispered.
Kai pulled me to him, crashing his lips on mine as he put me on his lap. He put his lips by my ear, “Open the link later and touch yourself. I’ll be waiting,” he grinned then kissed me again.
I laughed against his lips.
