Mom cleared her throat moments later when Kai still hadn’t let me go.
“I have to go, Kai,” I said.
He growled and gripped the back of my head, kissing me with rougher tugs of my lips.
“Take the boys back home to bed, they need sleep before tomorrow,” I said breathlessly.
Kai finally let me go, grumbling as I climbed off his lap.
“We’ll take care of them, Beautiful,” Derik said, standing up.
I embraced him one last time and his lips brushed my ear, “We’ll all be waiting.”
I grinned and nodded, looking at them as I left the stage.
They all eyed me, heat in their eyes.
I wasn’t allowed to see them until the ceremony tomorrow. I grinned back at them, Enzi taking my hand as we left together.
I couldn’t wait to tell them what happened after the wedding. I bet that tradition they’d love.
5. The Dress
Lorelai
“Your hair is so tangled! You were meant to keep still so it wouldn’t be as hard to braid this morning, Lorelai,” Pearl scolded as she combed through the knots.
I grimaced, rubbing my tired eyes.
I hadn’t had much sleep and I hadn’t laid still in bed.
My Alphas had been in the link with me.
My body grew tight and hot as I thought about what they had been doing.
They had touched themselves, stroking their cocks as I had pleasured myself and it had been hot as hell, but it had meant sleep had evaded me.
I had been so desperate and needy for them, Kai had almost risked Galen’s wrath to get to me.
Even Derik had considered getting his wolf out.
So we’d had to go before we ruined everything.
But then Brax’s shadows had found me and destroyed me all night.
It had been worth it.
Even if I had shadows under my eyes and tangled hair.
Anetta came in with some chalk powder.
She dabbed it under my eyes as Mom tugged on my white hair.
Enzi came in then, coming to sit on my lap, dressed in her beautiful gown.
It was a white dress that was made of lace on the top with a silk ribbon around her waist that tied in a bow.
Mom had done her hair in braids and curls with little white flowers in it.
Her skirts dropped to the ground, covering her twine sandals with the same little flowers.
I kissed her rosy cheek.
“You look beautiful,” I said, holding her against me, ignoring the burning of my scalp where Mom tugged.
Anetta was dressed in a white dress too. Everyone was wearing white. Mom had said it would look amazing against the snow.
I didn’t doubt her.
I sat with Enzi, talking with her about the rest of the wedding as my hair was done.
Anetta came and went as Mom instructed her.
Beenie came in a couple of times.
Even Tabby made an appearance.
Mom gave them all tasks, running everything with elegance and a firm hand.
It was kind of impressive.
Even if I would have been fine with just saying the words and putting on the ring.
Mom finished my hair and I looked at my reflection.
“Wow,” I breathed.
It was intricate, the detailed braids and the small white flowers making it look so different from how it normally did.
The curls and braids were in perfect places and made me look like a true bride.
“Mom, you’re a princess,” Enzi grinned, “And our flowers match.”
“That’s because you’re a princess too,” I smiled and kissed her forehead before turning to Mom, “Thank you. I love it,” I said.
She beamed.
“Dress time, Sweetheart,” she said, looking out the window at the rising moon.
We were getting married under a full moon which I was excited about.
The full moon always made me feel more connected to everyone. Especially my Alphas.
Mom pulled my dress out and it took my breath away.
It was perfect.
A crisp white silk that fit over my bust like a second skin. It had a detailed neckline with a gold, leafy pattern sewn along it.
The same pattern that was on the cuffs on my upper arms.
The long sleeves flowed out from the cuffs, the same way the dress did from my waist.
The corset underneath was tight but it was a fancier one than I had ever worn.
“It is from Evelyn. She insisted that vampires had better corsets. I didn’t believe her until she showed me what it did for our bodies,” Mom smiled.
I raised a brow as she tied me into it.
Of course, she was right.
It gave me a small waist, a raised bust, and an impressive hip curve.
Even with the dress over it, I knew it would drive my Alphas wild.
The gold detailing was all along the dress trim, the stitches and seams.
Then Mom added a cloak that had a long train with the same gold detailed stitching and pulled the cowl up gently over my curled, twisted hair.
I looked up at her and there were tears in her eyes as she looked over me.
“Oh,” she said, her voice catching as her tears filled, “I have waited to see you like this, Lori,” she whispered.
I smiled, “I know,” I whispered back, looking down at myself.
