“Well. Is it against the rules to just say ‘what he said’?” Brax smirked.
Everyone laughed and I grinned.
One glance at my Mom had Brax clearing his throat and tugging his coat straight.
“Just kidding, of course.”
I laughed again and he smiled down at me, “That smile, Spitfire. Had me from the first day I saw it. And like Derik, I struggle to put what we have into words. But also like Derik, I have a promise. A promise that if that smile ever leaves your face, I will put it back. When you’re sad, I’ll make you laugh. When you need the light put back in your shadows, I’ll be there. I’m yours Spitfire, in every way. I have been since the blood ceremony,” Brax smiled, his eyes shiny.
I wasn’t so elegant, still crying as he spoke to me. We had never been so in depth with how we felt.
I knew how we were, I knew everything they said was true without them having to say it. But hearing the words hit harder than I thought they would. My heart, my mating links, my body were all warm, bright with a comfort that only my Alphas could give me.
Brax winked at me and stepped out of the way so Kai could take my hands.
He gave me that devious smirk that he wore so well and I shook my head.
‘Don’t say anything sexual. Mom will kill you,’ I warned. His grin widened.
“Little Luna. You’re mine. I’m yours. There is no one I wouldn’t kill for you, no world I wouldn’t burn for you.” Kai leaned in then, brushing his lips against my cheek.
Short and sweet but it was enough to have my tears streaming again.
I had heard human vows, they were nothing like my Alphas. They were generic statements that held no affection for the other person since they hadn’t chosen that person.
But my Alphas meant every word. And I hadn’t been prepared to hold that kind of love in my heart. It was bursting at the seams in my chest and I sniffled, clearing my throat as Galen eyed me.
How the hell was I meant to top what they had said? Or portray what I felt for them in words like they had?
But I had to try.
My bouquet hung from my wrist and I clasped my hands together, looking over my Alphas. They waited with smiles that melted me inside. They were my everything, were there words for that?
“My entire world changed after the blood ceremony. I met you three. My Alphas.
You didn’t judge me for being winterborn, you didn’t look down your nose at me.
You talked to me like I was normal. I had craved that kind of interaction since I had grown to know what I was. But all three of you gave me that and more.”
I took a deep breath, trying to piece the words together as I went, “You came back for me. You wanted me.”
I turned to Kai, “Your obsession is the reason I’m standing here. You felt what we didn’t, you knew and ever since then, I have never doubted what you feel for me. I will spend the rest of my life making sure you know that I am just as obsessed with you,” I smiled at him, his form blurry through my tears.
I turned to Derik, “Derik, you’ve always been so firm, so controlled with the pack but for me? You are affectionate, making sure I am always safe and caring when I am not. I promise to give you the same affection and to always be the safe space where you can take off your mask,” I sniffled and his own eyes leaked.
I licked my lips, taking a deep breath before turning to Brax. “Brax, we’ve always been connected. We’re winterborn. It’s a different burden to bear that only we can understand together. As much as I am your light in that darkness, you are mine. I promise to always pull you back to me when you stray, to always be your light, never letting that darkness consume you. Just as you do for me,” I said, my voice wobbling.
I tried to think of anything else, but there wasn’t anything else to be said. I just wanted them, and I wanted this over so I could touch them, hold them. “You are mine and I am yours. Always,” I finished.
I heard sniffling and crying before Galen cleared his throat. He got his parchment straightened then carried on with the ceremony. But I wasn’t sure what he said. I was too focused on my Alphas.
We exchanged rings. My Alphas put three rings with three different gems on my finger, linking them so they made one ring with the gems in a row. I put theirs on.
Galen said some more words, but I still wasn’t listening.
Then Derik moved into me, holding the side of my head as he kissed me and everyone cheered. His lips were soft and quick before he pulled back. Brax kissed me next, his more demanding. He winked when he pulled back and I hoped that was a promise for later.
And then Kai. He had to take it to the next level and push his tongue inside my mouth. I wasn’t strong enough today to resist. Galen cleared his throat and Kai finally pulled back, grinning as we stood and faced the guests.
They were all cheering and clapping as we were announced. “The Valarian’s!”
Galen called out, and we walked back down the aisle together as married Alphas and Luna.
7. The Reception
Kai
“I can’t dance,” Lorelai giggled as I moved us around the dance floor.
We were full of wine and food, but apparently, the first dance was compulsory.
I hated being told what to do, but the smile on my mate’s face was worth following the rules for.
“You can, just follow my lead,” I said as her hand went lower on my back.
My hand was already on the curve of her ass, my cock already straining to be inside her.
I pressed her against me harder and she sucked in a breath, feeling what she had done to me.
“Not exactly the time,” she smirked, meeting my eyes. Her eyes swirled with a heat I wanted to be burned by.
“It’s always the time, Little Luna,” I teased, “Or is it wife, now?” I whispered.
A shudder ran over her body and I soaked it in, my cock twitching against her.
“I like both.”
I grinned down at her then held her even closer, my head resting along hers as we turned.
It had taken me a while to get the human dancing thing right, but that was only because having her so close made me distracted.
I wanted to sneak her out of the room and fuck her. I didn’t care what else there was to do, I just wanted her.
We’d had the cake, we’d had the speeches, we’d eaten. Surely, there wasn’t long before I could have her to myself? If there was, I’d definitely be breaking some rules.
“Not long to go, I promise,” she said, her voice low as her hand went even lower on my back.
“You have danced with us all now, Little Luna. If there is much more to this tradition, I might have to risk your Mom’s wrath to get you alone,” I teased.
Her grip tightened on me, her breaths shallower.
I smiled at her reaction and read her thoughts. They were all dirty.
She wanted to get out of here as much as I did.
“There isn’t. Only one more part but I think you will enjoy it,” she smiled.
I leaned back and raised a brow at her, “What is it?”
She grinned and our link flashed with heat, “Well, there is the consummation.”
I grinned, “Fucking is a part of the tradition?”
“Well, the wedding night fucking is,” she smiled.
“Then I’m pretty sure we’re done here,” I said, stopping in the middle of the song.
Other couples had joined the dance and moved across the dance floor so no one cared when I pulled my mate off it.
Pearl was distracted with Galen who had asked her to dance.
It was a chance I had every intention of taking when Derik and Brax stopped me from escaping.
I scowled at them as Lorelai chuckled.
“We’re getting some air,” I grumbled.
“You’re staying until we are excused,” Derik said, his eyes drifting to Lorelai.
She was still stunning in her dress and he was just as weak for her.
Brax was already behind her, kissing over her neck as she held my hand.
“Trying to ditch me on our wedding night, Spitfire?” he whispered to her.
