For someone his age, he sure talks a lot. Also, the way he has everything figured out has me stunned. I hate that I will have to disappoint him again. I need to spend more time with him. I hope Ana will cover for me when we go to the cells.
“That’s a good plan sweetheart. I will show your dad where to get all that stuff. Meanwhile, tell your mummy to prepare our breakfast, and choose another room for you” The king says and he quickly wiggles from my arms to do what he is told.
“Let’s get this done with before he realizes you are missing,” He says walking ahead of me and I silently follow. I hope we won’t take long there. That place is disgusting, and the fact that we are going to torture someone for information freaks me out.

This is totally different from taking out your opponent in a fight. During a war, you are always controlled by instinct. It is either you or your partner. But in this case, my opponent will be denied the freedom to defend himself.

“He is a good boy, I wish the environment was a bit peaceful. Yesterday, during the attack, I found them in a vulnerable position” I hate that I was late. His words keep ringing in my head.
“That’s why Ana needs to shift. Have you two decided on the offer?” He stops and gently grabs my shoulders. Everyone else stops too, and I know they are listening to our conversation. Dam n werewolf hearing.
“Yes, she said she will support me” The king chuckles and pats my back. Good. Now the royal classes can begin. Speaking of which, I invited future beta to come with us. Running a kingdom is not easy son, and having a trustworthy assistant will help you a big deal. The key point is, that you two need to have a mutual understanding, if you are friends then nothing will come bet**en you two”
I look at the said guy and sigh. Friendsh*ps come naturally like Me, Chase, and El. It would be easier with them.

“Ana will be challenged to her position as queen too.” I immediately stop walking when he says that, and everyone follows suit.
Wait, you know I can’t trade her for anything, right? I will go where she goes, and I can’t allow anyone else to have her aside from me. I think that rule is not okay since she is my mate The King chuckles before sending a knowing smirk my way.

My mind keeps going to my mate and I can’t wait to have alone time with her. She needs to finish what she had started. I will gladly drop the title to be with her. If it comes to that.
“Damon” The king calls sounding a little strict. His demeanor completely changes when the beta’s son moves forward.
“Your Highness” He shows his neck in submission to both the king and me. Everyone around me is in dark suits including Damon. I am the odd one out.
“This is Jace. My son, and successor” Wow! That is a first. He said I will have to prove myself to earn ‘his son’ title. “I demand respect from everyone. Anyone who crosses him and his mate will have me to face. They are joining the royal school tomorrow, so better warn everyone not to make a mistake” His voice is no longer calm. I guess I can learn something from how he handles himself.
“Yes your highness”
“Good. I will give you two time to catch up later, right now we have a lesson to learn”
“Your friend, when is he leaving?” he directs the question to me. Chase said he is not going back.
“He was my beta and he wishes to join me”
The man shrugs looking forward. ” Let him join the classes too, who knows, he can become handy in the future” I smile at that. Chase will be ecstatic about this. I can also use a friend in this new environment. I think this wolf is considerate after all.

“The security was compromised. All the prisoners and guards are unconscious, the wolves from outside too”
“Mhh, I see” the man mumbles. His face remains calm but his eyes portray murder.
So who among the prisoners is missing?”
“Leonardo your Highness, and he left this in his cell” He hands over a piece of paper, and the king motions for me to take it.
“His mother?”
“He left her behind” his mother was placed in a dungeon away from the cells. As they say, you can’t store your eggs in one basket. It’s real.
