Must be my lucky day.
“We need to finish that conversation??”
“We did. It’s done with.” We’ve already had our vow ceremony. I have a chosen. My father said that Sierra’s father owed him a favor, and she was it. I told him that he should fuck her then, and he just laughed. The sick bastard has definitely thought about it.
His jaw sharpens at my words. “It’s complicated…”
The door opens behind us, and Adam and I both turn to see a woman enter the office. She wears a red dress that hugs her curves and shows off her large, paid-for chest. Her head is held high, and her eyes sweep over me and Adam for a quick second before she dismisses us both.
“Brothers.” She addresses our fathers. Going to them one by one, they each hug and kiss her cheek. “I’m sorry to interrupt. I can come back,” she offers.
“Nonsense.” My father waves off her concern and pulls out the chair to his desk for her to have a seat. “Come alone today?” he asks, looking back to the door.
“He’s here. I left him in the foyer speaking to Jessie.”
The room falls silent, and I look at Adam.
“Okay…” Adam starts feeling the awkwardness in the room.
“We’re leaving.” I feel like they’re about to strip her naked, tie her down and each take their turns fucking all her holes while her husband watches. He probably brought her here for that very reason. And I’d prefer to not have to soak my eyes in bleach tonight.
“Haidyn,” my father growls. “We are having this conversation.”
“No. We’re not.”
“Either you listen or we decide for you,” Adam’s dad speaks.
“What is this about?” Adam looks at me confused.
He has no clue what my dad wanted me to do. I thought I had handled it, and we had moved on.
“Haidyn denied your sister as his chosen,” his father states.
Adam looks at me wide-eyed and then back at his father. “You can’t be serious. Of course he did. Saint…”
“Would have learned to live with it,” Saint’s father snaps.
“I have a chosen. Sierra,” I remind them as if they all weren’t there and watched her bleed on my dick. “And Saint has Ashtyn. The ritual is over. We’re moving on.”
“You need a Lady.” My father squares his shoulders.
“Absolutely not!” I shake my head, knowing exactly where this is going.
“You either take her willingly or we force you,” Adam’s father says.
“Are you saying he has to marry Ash?” Adam looks from me to them. “Dad?” He steps into his father and after a second he shakes his head. “No. you can’t be serious.”
“Your sister will marry Haidyn whether they want to or not.”
“I won’t fucking do it. I won’t force her to do it,” I growl.
“You love her.” The woman speaks, and I choose to ignore her. I don’t give a fuck what she thinks.
My father removes a cell from the pocket of his suit jacket and runs his fingers over it before he places it on his desk, propped up facing the room. A video of Saint, Kashton, and I each fucking Ashtyn’s ass is playing.
“Jesus Christ.” Adam spins around, giving us his back to look away from the video playing of his sister. He throws his head back, closing his eyes and takes a deep breath to try and drown out the sound of Ashtyn’s voice begging for more. Adam already had to watch Saint fuck her at the vow ceremony. He sure as fuck doesn’t want to see it again.
“He already shares her with you.” Adam’s father shrugs. “You make her your Lady, and you can do whatever you want with her. Hell, let them all fuck her if that makes you feel better. Line ’em up.”
“I think I’m going to vomit,” Adam whispers, running a hand down his face.
“The answer is no,” I grind out. How many ways do I have to say it?
“Haidyn,” my father growls. “This is serious. You may have refused Ashtyn as your chosen, but she will be your wife.”
“I’m not taking her as a Lady,” I shout. He’s got to be out of his mind.
“There is a bigger picture here,” Adam’s father snaps. “And we have made sure things are in order for the future of Carnage.”
“I don’t give a fuck about this place,” I argue.
My father throws a glass of bourbon across the room, and it shatters against the wall. “Goddammit…”
“I won’t do that to Saint.” I shake my head.
“This has nothing to do with Saint. It has to do with you and what we’ve set up for all of you.”
“I don’t want her.”
“Do you think I wanted your mother?” he snaps. “Do you think I wanted you?” Pointing at me, he adds, “She was worthless, and you’re nothing more than a disappointment.”
His opinions about my mother and me aren’t new. I’ve never been the son that he wanted-easy to manipulate-and she couldn’t give him more.
Sighing, he runs a hand down his face.
Adam’s father speaks, “She is the one you will marry. We’ll set it up. It needs to be sooner rather than later.”
Adam spins around. “Dad??”
“And if you refuse, we’ll force you both.”
Adam steps toward his father, but I grab his shirt and yank him back. “Do what you have to do,” I say and turn to walk out, dragging Adam behind me.
“If she loves Saint as much as you say he loves her, she’ll come around to the idea of being your Lady real quick,” my father speaks, but I ignore him.
I yank the door open and slam it shut.
“What the fuck, Haidyn?” Adam snaps at me, ripping his shirt from my hold. “Why the fuck didn’t you tell me they wanted you to take Ashtyn as your chosen?”
We get into the elevator, and I turn to face him. “Are you fucking serious? You’ve been running around…being secretive ever since we met with that detective. Fuck, Adam, I can barely get you to answer your goddamn phone. Let alone fill you in on my life,” I shout, pushing the button for the basement.
He steps in front of me, and I bow my chest. “What are you going to do? How the fuck do we stop this?”
“I tell Saint.” Give him a heads-up and we get ahead of it.
“No.” He shakes his head. “He can’t find out.”
