Jeremy stood there for a while before suddenly running after them. Sean was waiting for Jonah and Alyssa by the Rolls¨CRoyce at the entrance.
“My feet hurt in the heels. Sneakers are the best.” Alyssa pouted at Jonah.
“Sean, get me the sneakers I brought for her.”
Sean quickly took a pair of sneakers from the trunk and placed them by Alyssa’s feet.
Jeremy finally ran to the entrance. He watched as Jonah kneeled and took off Allison’s heels. Jonah proceeded to hold her ankles and put on the sneakers for her. He even tied the shoelaces nicely with a level of attentiveness that rivaled a father taking care of his daughter.
She slid her hand into Jonah’s pocket and found a plece of chocolate. She took a bite of the chocolate and smiled sweetly.
“Let’s go home.” Jonah led her into the car. They left in no time.
Jeremy felt as though his heart had been taken from him. His chest was lilled with disappointment and a feeling of emptiness. His ex¨Cwife. who had once lived her lonely days in his absence, was now treated like a princess by Jonah Taylor.
A dignified man, Jonah was willing to do anything for the woman he loved with eyes full of affection. He loved Allison so much that he wanted to help her to put on her shoes.
Jeremy felt oddly upset at the sight of Allison being doted on.
In the evening, Liana followed Jeremy to the Seaview Manor with the excuse of visiting her uncle and aunt.
“Jeremy, why did you disappear from the cocktail party that night? I was scared when you left me alone.” Seated in the back of the car, she
“You shower.” Pick a fight. Allison did not give you a hard time today. What land’s pedalare?
He continued, “You should put your grudges behind you since she and I divorced. I will retire the AVICA MAYAMANIA’s Mandal.”
From then on, she and I will have nothing to do with each other.
After that, he did not speak to Lana until the Maybach arrived at Searence Sh.
Silently cursing out Allison upstairs, he left her with a glum look.
Lana gritted her teeth, thinking that she hadn’t done anything wrong. It was Allison who had robbed her of the marriage and cleaned for three years. A couple of taunts were nothing. Even if she were to kill Allison, that wouldn’t be enough to get her revenge.
Why would Jeremy side with Allison? Why?
Half an hour later, Jeremy descended the stairs in casual wear with Mrs. Posie at his heels. Halfway through, he overheard three women laughing and chatting in the living room.
Berty complained, “We should really change the chef. We’ve been served crap since Allison left. I suppose she isn’t totally useless; she’s pretty good at cooking.”
Lana wondered aloud, “Did Allison have to prepare your meals daily?”
Berty replied, “Of course! That country bumpkin had to prove her worth somehow after marrying up. The maids were talking behind her back, saying that she was a nanny with the empty title of Mrs. Walsh. She might be a princess on paper, but she was only a pauper in reality!”
Jeremy looked hostile as he clenched his fists.
Sophia chimed in, “I thought she’d cave in and get a divorce after one year. Jeremy gave her the cold shoulder, and everyone in the family snubbed her. I was surprised when she took it all in for three years before getting a divorce. I couldn’t have survived that if I were her. She was pretty hardy.”
Berty agreed. “Thankfully, Lana’s back. If not, I bet Allison would have hung around longer¨Cthat shameless bitch!”
Jeremy could not take it anymore and growled, “Are you done?”
The air immediately froze.
“Jeremy, we were…” Lana shot up to explain herself.
“You shouldn’t be talking behind Allison’s back when you have received her kindness,” he cut her off with such seriousness that she muttered.
Sophia and Berty scowled.
“What are you talking about? We…”
“Not only did you not appreciate Allison’s hard work, but you also treated her as a joke. Do you think you can walk all over me?” The look in his eyes sent a chill down their spines.
They were shocked by the way he mentioned Allison. In his three years of marriage to Allison, he rarely called her by her name. As a result of his cold treatment, everyone in the family perceived Allison to be a pushover.
To their surprise, he now referred to Allison by her name, as though he was close with her during the marriage.
The three women looked pale. The other maids were quiet.
“Allison was once my wife. I will not allow anyone to humiliate her, especially within our family.” Gritting his teeth and frowning, he warned Sophia, Berty, and Lana, “As a wife and daughter, you’d better have some class. Don’t make a fool of yourselves!”

Jeremy sat on the couch in the study, gently massaging his temples. He rested his elbows on his knees and leaned forward. Shoulders trembling, he appeared to be in great pain.
His head started aching on the way home, and his condition was exacerbated after listening to the three women badmouthing Allison.
A princess who was a pauper. It was not their place to badmouth Allison.
“Mr. Jeremy, is your headache acting up again? I’ll get the medications!” Mrs. Rosle found the pain relief pills in a drawer and brought him a glass of water. After taking the pills, he seemed more at ease as the pain reduced.
“You can’t rely on pills all the time! I remember that your condition Improved after Madam Allison performed some acupuncture on you. Shall we get her to check on you?” Mrs. Rosle suggested.
“Mrs. Rosle.” He choked on tears, “H¨CHave they been putting down Allison all along? They said that Allison made their meals for three years. Is that true?”
“Yeah, Mr. Jeremy. I told you Madam Allison was a hard worker, but you insisted that she was faking it. She went at it for three years! I’d have to praise her even if she was doing it for show. Such persistence!”
He pursed his pale lips.
“When she first joined the family, her cooking was average. She humbly asked me to teach her. I told her that it was the job of the maids and chef, and I asked her to sit back and relax.
“She insisted on working, saying that she should cook for you and take care of your daily needs because she couldn’t help you much at work.
“At first, she coughed a lot from the oll and smoke and had to wear a mask in the kitchen! But she eventually got used to it. She was busy in the kitchen every morning before I was even awake!”
He wondered the reason behind the coughing. Was Allison allergic to smoke?
A suffocating sensation closed in. Even the pills couldn’t help.
Sighing in frustration and dismay. Mrs. Rosie grumbled. “I’ve had enough of Sophia and Betty. Madam Allison sacrificed for the family. How could they not show an ounce of gratitude and mock her instead? It’s outrageous, I tell you.”
“Mr. Jeremy, I wished you could get back with Madam Allison. But I also wanted her to marry another man because it upsets me to think about her suffering in this family. I want her to marry into a family where she wouldn’t be mocked and humiliated.”
Words hurt as much as sticks and stones. Jeremy furrowed his brows, feeling like he was struck by lightning.
The next few days went by uneventfully, which meant that Newton Walsh’s birthday was nearing, and Alyssa would finalize her divorce with Jeremy. She had mixed emotions about the matter.
When she married Jeremy, they did not host a wedding or publicly announce their marriage. They hastily registered for the marriage certificate at the city hall without even throwing a celebratory dinner.
The only photo they took together was from that day. She smiled sweetly and leaned into Jeremy, who looked expressionless as though he was Photoshopped into the photo.
She had naively believed that things would change for the better after they were married. She thought Jeremy would warm up to her one day as long as she tried her best.
It took her long enough to realize that she could not make him love her through sheer effort.
Their marriage did not fail because of a lack of effort from her side. There was an Insurmountable distance between them from the beginning.
“Ms. Alyssa, the hotel’s event planning department came up with this event proposal after pulling a few all¨Cnighters. Please take a look at Ada Kingsley’s wedding planner proposal.” Sean placed the file in front of Alyssa. Her eyes lit up as she quickly reviewed it.
Then, she swiftly left fer ideas from Eve years back.

“Sure.” Sean felt bad for his colleagues who had suffered from drafting the proposal
“We need to speed up Ada Kingsley’s wedding planner proposal after Grandpa’s birthday. I need everyone to give their best and crush the Walsh Group. We shouldn’t take it lightly. Her eyes shone with determination. 1
“Roger that! We cannot lose out to Jeremy Walsh Sean curled his fists.
