Hunter was heading hack home. Alter Faria’s disappearance he was very concerned about River. All he wanted was to give her the best. Site had suffered so much in her life and all he ever wanted in his life was to give his mate the best possible future. Moreover, his mate was pregnant. That brought out his overprotective nature,
In the human world he had spent every single free hour buying clothes and toys for his unborn pup. And of course for Mia because he knew that she was no lesser than a pup. An overgrown pup who loved him too much. Well, it went without saying that he loved her even more. His logic for loving her more was that he had known her and played with her ever since she was a day old and she didn’t even remember her.
“Your helicopter is ready, Alpha Hunter,” said the pilot on the phone. “When would you like to fly?”
“I will be there in ten minutes,” he said as he zipped the last of his bags and handed them to the porter. He was too excited to go back. His meeting schedules had been so busy that all he wanted now was to cuddle his sweetheart and have tons of sex.
The helicopter reached the Dark Moon pack in an hour. As soon as he disembarked, lie rushed to the castle and without noticing the servants to bow to him or ask him for food, he just darted to his bedroom to meet his wife. “River!” he opened the door as he called her with excitement. But his excitement ebbed a little when he didn’t see her there. it was 11 AM and she was usually up at this time Did she have morning sickness? He strode to the bathroom, hoping to see her there, but she wasn’t there either.
“River!” he called her. Was she playing games with him? “Wait until I catch you, River!” he puffed.
As soon as he turned to go and find her and then spank her, he saw Berta came running after him. “Where is your Luna?” he asked as he passed her on his way out.
“Alpha Hunter!” Berta said. “Luna River has gone to Mia’s school.” Hunter’s brows furrowed. He stopped in his tracks and turned to Berta.
Berm repeated, “Luna River was in a hurry to leave. When I asked her; she said she was going to Mia’s school.”
“But why?” From the corner of his vision he saw Asher and Elijah coming towards him. Seeing both his Beta and his Gamma, Hunter became wary. “What is going on?” he growled.
Berta was too nervous to say a word, so she stood frozen in her place. Asher looked at Elijah who was already pale and seemed like he could faint-
“What is going on?” Hunter growled so loudly that the glass in the windows shook. His eyes flickered golden as his Lycan became restless.
Asher darted his gaze from Berta to Elijah and finally to Hunter. In a low voice he said, “Mia has been missing since morning.”
“What the f*ck!” Hunter snarled. He grabbed Asher’s throat. His fangs elongated as if he was going to rip Asher into pieces. His Lycan growled, scrambling on the inside to conic out.
Asher grabbed his wrist and struggled to remove it, but Hunter was too powerful for a gamma warrior like him. He couldn’t even budge his hands. His throat squeezed hard, his eyes watered and he coughed. “Alpha…” he managed to speak in a hoarse voice.
Berta was shaking in her place and she knelt on the ground in submission. Elijah hurried to them and said, “It is not his fault, Hunter!” He grasped Hunter’s wrist and tried to pull it. He managed to remove it but with a lot of force. “Hunter!”
Hunter snapped his head to look at Elijah. “Where is Mia?” he snarled at him.
“Please calm down Hunter. We are all very worried,” Elijah requested.
Hunter’s Lycan wanted to come out and go and hunt for his sister, but he willed him to go back. He clenched his fists as his biceps bulged and his neck tendons corded.
Elijah lowered his head. “Mia has been missing since morning, River discovered it and we all are now looking for her. River went to her school to find out about her.”
Hunter took his phone out and called the headmistress, She informed him that Mia hadn’t come to the school. But what was even more scary was the fact that River hadn’t come to the school. That meant that River lied to Berta and went someplace else.
Dread blasted in his chest.
The next thing he did was to call River, but her phone was going unanswered. He felt that his world was going to end. He became so mad that he tipped his head up and roared. The windows and the doors of the castle vibrated as he roared. Every servant, every omega in the castle knelt on the ground in pure submission and terror.
“Hunter!” Elijah said, kneeling on the ground in submission. When his Alpha roared, it was impossible for anyone to stay on their feet. He had such a powerful aura that if his Lycan came out, he could destroy the whole of the Dark Moon pack.
Hunter looked at him, his beast trying to rear his head up to find his mate. In a very dangerous growl he said, “Find her and if she isn’t found soon, I will destroy each one of you”
“Yes Alpha,” Elijah managed to speak as his beast inclined his neck to offer it to his Alpha.
Every warrior came into action. They started to sniff River’s scent. Hunter was the one who led them and in less than half an hour, he was standing in front of Howard’s house. As soon as he was about to enter, Rosalie came out.
“Hunter?”
“What are you doing here?” he snarled as he stepped closer to her. She started crying. “River—” she sank to the ground.
“What about River?” he growled, towering over her.
“It—it was Mia who k—killed Natalie!” she wailed. “And River came to know about it.” She extended her hand to give him a crumpled letter.
